Overall, Sage Intacct is a great product which can potentially save your organization a lot of time, allowing you to focus more on analyzing the data and making better decisions. This is because it automates and simplifies several reporting and accounting tasks for you. It is also very easy to train people to use, and user friendly. Would definitely recommend to others.
Pros
It's so easy to use. It is logical, user-friendly, and it does practically everything. It is definitely one of the top 3 operations/accounting/finance data management tools I have ever experienced (and I have experienced several in my career). The reports are set up for you, right out of the box, with little change needed. The reports are dynamic as well, allowing the user to decide what level of data to retrieve. Ad hoc reporting is also intuitive and easy with the interactive report builder.
Cons
Although it comes out of the box with good structure, sometimes structures can be very challenging to set up (data-flow from/to accounts, roll ups to parent accounts, etc.). But, every database/reporting software has its little caveats.

Sage Intacct Grows With Your Company

Sage Intacct helps us close our books within our required reporting deadline of workday 5. Using integrations allows us to eliminate manual work. In addition, it is scalable so it can grow with us. No solution is perfect and others were researched prior to our decision to implementing Sage Intacct and we believe we made the right choice in selecting Sage Intacct
Pros
I like the way that other programs, ADP Payroll and Ramp Visa integrate into Sage Intacct. That saves a lot of time.
Cons
I dislike how deposits are posted in the general ledger. For example: If there's a deposit that contains multiple payments and the total deposit amount is not reflected in the Cash GL but it is posted by individual invoice line items. If a deposit of $20,000 contains 20 checks ( or credit card payments) from vendors that are paying multiple invoices (for this example, 5 invoices for each payment) the deposit total of $20K doesn't appear as a single debit to the Cash, GL account but 100 lines appear on the Cash GL.
Reasons for Choosing Sage Intacct
It was an archaic system from the previous owners that wasn't updated in over a decadeReasons for Switching to Sage Intacct
I had previous experience implementing other solutions and support was a factor as well as scalability.Response from Sage

Sage Intacct is good but expensive

Core Financial Management & ERP Program: Sage Intacct
Reviewed on 2025/01/08
Pros
The best thing about Sage Intacct is that it combines ERP and financial management capabilities in one place.
Cons
Unfortunately, Sage Intacct has limited focus on non-financial aspects such as HR and supply chain - However, I have integrated it with external applications and APIs.

OK but not a great fit for smaller businesses and nonprofits.

We bought the system as a solution that was able to integrate with other software we use. We continue to use the system - but partially because installing another system is so labor and cost intensive. Staying with the "devil we know" has been our course of action. My relationship manager is very supportive.
Pros
It is a robust and well designed system. I has far more features than we would ever use.
Cons
Many updates actually are not helpful to us. They don't have a "less robust" option for smaller businesses. Product support is spotty, especially when it comes to API integrations. And some things are very hard to do in Sage Intacct, that were actually quite simple back in Sage Peachtree.
Response from Sage
Hi Andrea, we appreciate your feedback on Sage Intacct. We're dedicated to improving our system to better suit the needs of all businesses, big and small. Your insights help us focus on what matters most to our users. Thank you for your continued support and for being a valued member of our community.
