About Klaviyo
Klaviyo is the world’s leading owned marketing platform known for accelerating revenue for online businesses using the channels they own like email, SMS, in-app notifications, and web. Enabling companies to leverage these owned marketing channels, Klaviyo makes it easy to store, access, analyze and use transactional and behavioral data to power highly-targeted customer and prospect communications. And unlike other marketing platforms, Klaviyo doesn’t force companies to compromise between advanced functionality or ease of use—so companies of all sizes are able to maximize their sales quickly. That’s why over 50,000 innovative companies like Unilever, Custom Ink and Living Proof sell more with Klaviyo.
With Klaviyo’s custom web tracking technology, users can segment audiences and target triggered campaigns effectively and automatically based on collected customer behavioral and transactional data. Including built-in email autoresponders, Klaviyo enables users to automate triggered email flows for events such as abandoned shopping carts and order follow ups.
Klaviyo also allows users to measure the performance of their marketing campaigns by facilitating reporting and meaningful analysis with key metrics. From the Klaviyo dashboard, users can compare current and past campaign performance, view real-time activity streams and add, edit or remove other metric charts. Klaviyo’s metrics grant users the flexibility to analyze trends in orders, see shifts in customer behavior as well as track growth of lists and segments.
Klaviyo supports integration with multiple ecommerce, payment processing and POS software such as Shopify, Magento and WooCommerce in order to gather and utilize customer-driven data. Moreover, Klaviyo also has an open API which allows users to add custom eCommerce integrations. All Klaviyo integrations sync automatically to ensure that users have access to the latest and most appropriate data for email personalization and targeting.

Despite the cons I laid out above, if you do have decent traffic and a good list size, you're missing out by not using klaviyo.
Pros
Klaviyo is the gold standard in eCommerce email & SMS marketing for a reason. It serves as a central hub for all your customer data and is the foundational building block for a strong segmentation & CLV strategy. It's extremely powerful with lots of features to tailor your marketing to your specific business case. I've also been very pleased with Klaviyo's customer support and educational resources.
Cons
Let's face it — this isn't the cheapest email software out there. For small eComm companies that are just starting out, it likely isn't the best option. The price isn't justified unless you have a decent-sized list and traffic on your site. It's also complex so there's a little bit of a learning curve.

Very good tool for the price, has some good features

Is definitely sophisticated for its low price, but not optimal for a CRM focussed team and company.
Is definitely sophisticated for its low price, but not optimal for a CRM focussed team and company.
Pros
For the price of the tool, its a super good one! You can even set-up free account, make a full data transfer or data set-up plan in line with the tool and its capabilities and then begin the paid monthly contract.
Cons
Has some funny quirks. Some features can be accessed if your workflows are event based but not list or segments based. Example, if someone re-enters a segment a year later they can no longer receive a flow. This will impact you highly for a multi-purchase business model. Another example is the "add to list" option from a list? segment flow. You cannot add users to a list based on their engagement actions in a workflow.

I love using Klaviyo. I actually converted after using Omnisend for a few years. I've also used HubSpot and MailChimp, but Klaviyo beats them all. It's incredibly user-friendly, especially for design!
Pros
I love the subject line automation, the most. I also love how easy it is to segment, how you can create desktop and mobile versions of emails, and how I can see all of the email campaign metrics in real-time.
Cons
It can stall sometimes when I'm trying to edit the content. The text box can be glitchy and require refreshing.

Overall, Klaviyo does the job. We are able to manage our campaigns and manage our marketing entirely. Certainly a positive experience using it.
Pros
Klaviyo is a good software for marketing needs. Navigating through the dashboard, as well as building & managing campaigns was pretty simple.
Cons
I wish that Klaviyo allows for a more customized way to build your templates and campaigns. Its rigid, and needs to be more available to move things around as you want, and not stick to the rigid columns.
