Lucidea Integrated Library Systems including SydneyDigital (formally known as SydneyEnterprise) and GeniePlus) is an integrated library solution (ILS) with automated knowledge management features for cataloging, circulation and online search.
SydneyDigital is Lucidea's unified library automation and knowledge management platform, designed with the functional flexibility to suit specialist librarians across commercial, private, public and nonprofit facilities. Deployed within the cloud, the system is Single Sign On compatible to provide convenient anytime and anywhere access within the desktop or mobile browser. Powered by LucideaCore technology at it's heart, SydneyDigital comprises modules including the views and portal designer for customizing the UI workflows for both staff and patron access, along with the KM Builder. The latter supports the extensive cataloguing of library and knowledge assets such as books, images, eJournals, videos and more. Librarians can richly record items and attach multiple files while remaining fully searchable, along with tools for importing MARC records directly.
These comprehensive collection and catalog management features are joined by an enriched querying experience for crucially assisting all users in finding the information they need. Faceted search options, smart filtering, alerting and one-touch navigation all combine to form a single authoritative source, fully integrated with internal and external repositories.

It has what you need

Pros
It has many features and is multi-functional. I was able to get the hang of it pretty easily with support from my supervisor, but if you require additional help, they have live representatives willing to help 24/7.
Cons
I don't really have a complaint, considering my limited experience with the software.

Customer assistance has been stellar!

Identities/authority control (needs to be able to import controlled vocabulary files, such as LCSH)
Being a more complex system, with more features and customization capability, also makes it a little more complicated to set up
Printing - too complicated, too many options that we don't use in our library

Continued development along the lines of where I'd like to go with sharing our data; having the access to flexible data design and redefinition and display. Getting at least to the basics of that with relatively complete ease.
Pros
Facilitates customer driven design; flexibility, avoids rigid constraints of many other systems; potential for integrating data in diverse formats into system; excellent customer service and support.
Cons
The con is really the constraints on my own time; I look forward enriching our content and developing specialized access routines for our staff.

Pros
We upgraded to GeniePLUS in 2021 and it could not have come at a better time. Knowing that our catalogue and data is secure gives us a big peace of mind. During lockdown, we had great customer service and were able to customise the database to suit our needs.
Cons
The adding multiple inventory records function does not work as well as in the previous version of Genie.

We have easily made changes to the library catalog and OPAC with the changes happening in the firm....
We have easily made changes to the library catalog and OPAC with the changes happening in the firm. It's easy to train new employees and the Sydney customer support is always great.
Pros
The flexibility and ease of making custom databases and views. I have been using Sydney since 2007 and it keeps getting better. They listen to their users. They also have excellent customer service.
Cons
The manuals could be a bit more detailed, but the tutorials are great for learning specific modules.
