Great program and well worth the money

I've worked in the powersports industry for 13 years. The two previous dealers I worked at used Lightspeed NTX and EVO. I opened up my own shop four months ago, and I was initially really leaning toward Lightspeed. I did demo's with four DMS programs while shopping for a DMS, and I really liked the features ofn BiTDMS. Funny thing is that this was the program I was least interested in demo'ing when I started my shopping process.
Now that I'm four months in to my new venture, and I have to say I'm well pleased with BitDMS. The software is straight forward and easy to use, pricing is very good with no buy in, no contracts are great, and it's easy to add more features if I expand to sales down the road.
The training was very well done, and the technical support has been very good too the few times I've needed it. I can say the tech support response times with BiTDMS have been much quicker than what I experienced with Lightspeed.
The inventory pricing features are awesome, and it's nice to be able to set your pricing and make it foolproof for someone else entering a part number. Being able to preset service jobs and descriptions is nice too, and saves a lot of time when writing up repair orders. Parts updates just like everyone else for all the major vendors like Western Power Sports, Parts Unlimited, etc...
All in all BiTDMS is an excellent bang for your buck, and the cost savings everywhere across the board versus other programs is amazing!!!
Pros
The parts and service side is what really sold me on BiTDMS. The ability to set your parts markup automatically by vendor makes it super easy to make sure you're maximizing profitability. The ability to make service job descriptions makes repair order write up much quicker because of the ability to automatically fill out job descriptions by clicking on one menu item rather than typing it all out.
Cons
No cons at all for me. The parts and service invoicing is totally different than Lightspeed and other programs I've used in the past. Basically everything including labor is treated like a part. Once you get that in your head and used to that it's easy peasy.

Learned what I need and what I want from the next software we choose. ****Update- Bit has stepped up and is addressing our issues. They have resolved one issue and are working on the others! Thank you Bit!
Pros
Interchangeable parts, alt number use, open work order look up, work order task separation. pick list import for invoices. ****UPDATE- Since my original review Bit has really stepped up and looked into many of our concerns. They have resolved the issue with motor information when looking up work orders. They are also working to resolve the other issues we are having. I would say that Bit does listen to the concerns and issues of their customers and does work to make their software better.
Cons
Not being able to use the same part number from different vendors. Persona allows you to have the same number from different vendors it just opens a screen that you chose which vendor part you wanted.****(This issue was resolved)- when you put a motor in multiple WO for same customer and you need to quickly look up the order you have to have the WO# because it does not list the motor numbers in look up it only lists models. if you have a motor only it should be listed in the quick look up also. Not being able to delete a line- if you punch in the wrong part number then you can not delete from order. If i haven't saved the order yet I should be able to delete parts from it- I see this because of the parts number issue earlier mentioned. When a unit sales to a customer the unit should be automatically added to them as a unit so when it comes in for service it shouldn't have to duplicated into that part of the system.
Response from BiT Dealership Software
Gil,
Thank you for letting me know you are having difficulty, and for El Dorado Cycle and Outdoor Equipment being a customer for almost 3 years. Enhancement to address the engine info in the work order lookup has been in process and will be in the next update. BiT doesn't allow the removal of parts from an invoice for internal control purposes, but I see how you would want to remove a part before leaving the invoice and I will see how soon we can make that happen. It also sounds like you have questions about using interchangeable parts to manage similar parts from multiple vendors. We recently posted a how-to video on interchangeables, but I will have someone in Support call you tomorrow to discuss that as well as the process you are using when selling units. The information should be transferring to service so I am curious what process you are using.
Thank you

I started with Bit about 5 months ago for our golf cart dealership and have seen such an improvement in our business. We're a small company and I was looking for a system that is made for a golf cart dealership and I found it in Bitdms. The support and organization in Bit has been a huge step from use Quickbooks. Took about a month to train and implementation. Between the parts, service and sales end of Bit, it really organized our organization to have a better flow. As for customer service, it's outstanding! My rep [sensitive content hidden] has been a huge help and he stays on top of his customers to make sure we receive the help needed. If I have questions, there's a help button, I can call or send an email and the responses come in quick and thorough. I also like that I can use Bit when I'm not at the office, compared to the other competitors. Overall, I'm impressed with the company and the system they put together.
Pros
I love the customer support. Aside from customer support, I find the flow of each the sales and service are easy to use and efficient. Just about everything is linked and makes it easy for the user and the customer.
Cons
I wish the reports were a bit easy to use for accounting.

My main problem was tracking where work orders were in our process. Now I can look at any customer and see exactly where they are in our process.
Pros
It makes business so much easier from start to finish and then tracking where invoices are in our progression.
Cons
I disliked how to look up previous work orders until I figured out there was an easier way by checking with customer service. Once I learned it, no cons at all.
