Fame Rental is a cloud-based rental platform that helps manage the entire rental business, big or small, with features for equipment rentals, sales, parts, maintenance, service, retail, accounting, reporting and financials, all on a single platform. The solution also provides users with mobile apps, telematics, and an API.
Fame Rental offers flexible contract formats incorporating terms and conditions via e-mail, text, print, and more, with contract entry on multiple devices. Every line has all the attributes of a contract and can be split and billed separately, including the integration of all required additional fees such as a damage waiver, environmental fee, etc.
Users get visibility on fleets and availability at all times, with an efficiently engineered check-in and check-out process. Organizations can schedule drivers and deliveries with an understanding of everything that is happening. The maintenance wizard handles the entire preventive maintenance program, and automatically generates, assigns, schedules, and pre-populates PM’s with required parts, a stock-status report, estimated cost and labor, and more. Users can manage the procurement process, from creating purchase orders to paying vendors, and coordinate the complete order-to-pay cycle, including receipts, invoices, and returns. Fame Rental helps plan material requirements for production, control bills of material, and replenishes inventory automatically.

Pros
FAMe has generated $170k/year for us in time saving, at a minimum. Helped us to automate and streamline many of our processes to include scheduling, inventory management, and accounting. Enabled us to capture data and generate metrics that were previously unavailable to us.
Cons
No offline feature for the mobile application.

Does what it is asked to do

Pros
This software does what it is asked to do. It will track and catalog Rentals and the assets associated with it.
Cons
It is clunky and not intuitive. If you aren't extremely careful to make sure you "dot every i , and cross every t" then the software has trouble keeping up with you. It is somewhat tough to learn and get proficient in, but once you are it will work well.

Pros
Easy to implement, easy to customize, almost limitless customization possibilities, full integration with ERP.
Cons
At times, screen processing time/reaction times can experience some latency. But this is for our highly customized screens where there are numerous customized calculations taking place (i.e. populate one field and that triggers the calculations in 15-20 other fields). When we first implemented Fame (mostly out of the box), this was not an issue.

Pros
Easy to use and manages the interface to SAP with ease. We track over 500 pieces of rental equipment on a daily basis and the system allows us the data to accurately bill our customers and track our equipment utilization.
Cons
We still use paper based systems for data entry to the FAME rental system. Would be best if we can automate the entry through mobile devices to eliminate redundant data. This is our next step in deployment of the FAME applications.
