Direct Mail is an email marketing solution for Mac which enables users to create and send personalized emails to their subscribers. The app is designed for freelancers and SMBs, and includes customizable email templates, image editing, live previews, custom subscription forms, automatic and manual subscriber list segmentation, email tracking, campaign analytics, subscriber activity reporting, and more. A native iOS app also allows users to view campaign statistics on-the-go.
Direct Mail’s email templates are mobile-responsive and optimized for a range of email clients, and can be customized with images, videos, buttons, text rearrangement, and more. Images can be dragged-and-dropped directly into emails, and users can edit images within the app, including cropping, removing backgrounds, and adding filters. Emails can be personalized with recipients’ first and last names, and a range of other fields, and conditional logic allows users to tailor custom content sections. Live previews update automatically, giving users a real-time view of what recipients will see, including any custom content. Users are alerted to any mistakes in their email before sending, including broken links, misspelled email addresses, and spam filter issues.
Direct Mail allows users to target their messages to specific subscribers either manually or automatically. Smart Groups automatically segment subscriber lists based on user-defined rules and a range of more than 30 different criteria. Message delivery can be scheduled, and users can also set up automated campaigns with a range of triggers, including new subscriptions, subscriber birthdays, upcoming appointments, and more. Sent campaigns can be tracked in real-time through the Direct Mail dashboard, with a summary of metrics including opens, clicks, unsubscribes, and bounces. Individual subscriber activity reports are generated automatically, giving users insight into subscriber interactions and engagement.

I have maintained various mailing lists and mailings over the years and DirectMail has always been the perfect tool for me. Now that I am retired and I only use the app to organize my monthly dinner parties, it has scaled down nicely and is still the perfect tool.
Pros
Easy organization makes easy to maintain compliance with all laws and common decency.
Cons
It doesn't bend to my personal case use, but I could hardly expect it to.

When we moved from sendblaster on the PC to Direct Mail - well, actually we had used Direct Mail...
When we moved from sendblaster on the PC to Direct Mail - well, actually we had used Direct Mail for years, then sendblaster and when we moved back to the M1 Macs, it was such a relief to pick up with such a well-designed product. In the intervening years there had been some changes, but our older archives of templates just worked.
I am at the point where I would recommend a church to purchase an inexpensive Mac Mini JUST for email usage and in particular Direct Mail.
I appreciate the longevity of the product and look forward to what lies ahead. Great work team!
Pros
Direct Mail makes email management for notification to members as well as mailing lists a breeze. In religious organizations, being able to quickly send one-offs as well as weekly updates is essential.
Cons
I think the templates are dated. I also think folder management is a must.

This software is so easy to use and so powerful . I wish I had found it before. It has turned my email marketing from pain (with previous systems) to joy ! It is so easy to set up a very cool looking email and send it. I can control my budget to my needs. Recharge my credits when I need it and pay nothing for 2 months if Im not sending anything. And ... the mailing list management system is just amazing. it is so easy now to admin my mailing lists, correct them as I go, group people in different categories and move them around if needed. I have even intagrated the Subscribe forms on my web sites . Again ... flexible and so easy to set up . I LOVE direct mail . My music promo has totally changed since I use this software ... and all from the confort of my own computer !!!

Sending mails from an external database was easier before

Pros
It is doing what I want. Connect to an external database, send mail via an externa provider. But things are not working so well. The thing is that data in database are evolving and, in the new version, I have to re-right the request to the database each time in different adress group coming from different database. Spam test is not working. Preferences ares sometime not kept, situation on the screen for exemple.
Cons
Again it does exactly what i want but less easier than previous version . Main point is database connection.

Pros
Direct Mail allows me to send customised and personalised email messages to clients and customers without the risk of missing a field that should be changed for that customer. All the pertinent information is merged in and the recipient gets a better experience from the contact.
Cons
One or two people on an opt in mailing list can hit the spam button and I am threatened with a warning that I am sending unwanted bulk emails and that my service may be blocked, even though the issue is not of my doing.
