Definitely love how easy it is to put together emails, and see the success rate on them. It's a huge help to my business, and I don't know why I didn't start sooner.
Pros
How easy it is to import email contacts and design an email blast! The site is very well organized and easy to understand.
Cons
My literal only gripe would be figuring out how to set up my custom website email to send the newsletters from. But that has nothing to do with EmailOctopus, and entirely a problem with my domain provider. But I still figured it out, and my emails send out amazingly now!

Pros
It's so simple and the free tier is amazing. Paid seems like a good value. They are clearly willing to work with very early growing companies.
Cons
Very little, but the editor is too simple for brands with heavier requirements. This is meant for someone who is busy and just wants to make simple, but effective emails.

Overall, I had a good experience, but I really wish that they fix their email builder, and it's buggy.
Pros
Even though EmailOctopus(EO) is a relatively new tool but it has all the features you will expect it to have. The best this is that it's really affordable.
Cons
The major problem with EmailOctopus is there UI of email builder. It's really bad and buggy. Also if you try pasting content from Ms-Word or Notion then it changes the formatting which is troublesome to edit.
Also if you want to run referral programs for your newsletter then EmailOctopus has very few integrations.
They also pushed new update for their forms which makes it compulsory to use it with iframe and not custom html tags. That makes it very static and you can't use your own designs.

In respects to your feedback around the email builder, you'll be glad to know we are overhauling it this year and making it much simpler to copy and paste from your favourite tools, while retaining the correct formatting.
Our forms, as you've also mentioned, saw an update last year. I think you may have misunderstood the update, as we do not use iFrames and we never have done. All our forms can be style completely by you using CSS, and we have no plans to ever change that. We agree iFrames are not the right solution to use.

it was great. very easy to use and very cheap. those were the major wins for me. the monetization features of some competitors and such were not as important for me at the time. volume of followers for a cheap price was the major selling point
Pros
i liked the affordability of the service the most. i had a list of about 3-4k but didn't need all the bells and whistles of some other services. this was the perfect solution for my needs.
Cons
i couldn't figure out how to use the api service of the platform. there was a lot of content that i needed to programmatically input into the campaigns but i couldn't figure out how to. that led to me spending a lot more time than i wanted on content creation that i would have preferred just coding. i think i'll try it out again now that i see a v2 api now.

EmailOctopus offers many unique features in their free plan that made the learning curve 100 % worth it to me! I've had great tech support from them as well! I would definitely recommend this service to anyone who needs a solid, straightforward platform to host their newsletter!

I loved the ability to add my own graphics and clickable links so easily!
Cons
Learning to format my newsletters with their software was a bit of a learning curve, but I did grasp it eventually.
