About TeleReference

TeleReference is a cloud-based reference checking platform which automates the collection of written, phone, and video references. The system can be used by both employers and candidates, with pay-as-you-go pricing allowing users to pay per reference. TeleReference stores all recorded references, and users can access recordings from anywhere, at any time. Candidates can share references with multiple employers, and store recorded references for future use.

To collect references, users only need to enter referees’ contact details, and TeleReference automates the rest of the process. Referees are automatically notified that they have been invited to give a reference, and reminded daily. For video references, referees are directed to the step-by-step interface which prompts them to answer one behavior-based question at a time, and records their responses. An automated telephone system calls referees to collect their feedback, and written references are authenticated using social media. Once references are submitted, users are automatically notified, and progress can be monitored at any time through the dashboard.

    Pros

    It's always a guessing game when conducting references via phone. You are never sure who this person is or what role they actually hold within a company. This tool takes the guess work out of verifying references by requiring references to verify identity through linkedin. Not only that but it reaches out and reminds them to provide references automatically significantly speeding up the hiring process when it matters most.

    TeleReference optimized my reference checking process. It saved me a lot of time, and provided me with recorded video reference that I could share with the rest of the team. I did not have to worry about proper questions or taking notes. Seeing the referee's video is also a big advantage over a phone reference check.

    Pros

    It was very easy to sign and request references. Once references were recorded as a videos, I was able to show it to co-workers and make the decision. The whole process was very straightforward and saved lots of time.
    At per reference request, it's an amazing value!

    Cons

    Video reference is still a relatively new concept and some referees may show some resistance before they provide such reference.
