About FranConnect

FranConnect is a cloud-based franchise management solution designed to help manage the entire franchise lifecycle, including franchisee onboarding, training, customer relationship management (CRM), sales, field ops, financial data management, communications, marketing, performance tracking, and more. The software is suitable for franchises and multi-location businesses of any size, across all industries.

FranConnect provides users with a unified information system, enabling centralized management of compliance and historical records. All unit data can be managed from one location, and alerts are generated automatically for important events such as legal violation notifications, insurance expirations, renewal dates, and payments due. All contract transfers, expirations, renewals, and terminations can be tracked, and information can be shared to keep the organization aligned on unit history and status. Field operations can be managed, including field team and franchisee activity, store visit reports, follow-up tasks, franchisee self-evaluations, performance benchmarking, reporting and dashboards, and more. Non-compliance trends can be identified and programs created to address issues.

FranConnect’s franchisee onboarding tools aim to streamline the process of opening new franchise locations, including construction, employee training, and opening events. Workflow-based project plans enable collaboration between multiple departments and allow users to track all steps, tasks, and documentation, create milestones, track onboarding timelines, and receive overdue task alerts. Custom online courses can be developed to train franchisees and employees, automate onboarding training, and measure performance. FranConnect also offers a centralized communications hub, marketing management, CRM functionality, franchise insights, financial data management, and more.

    The software is well thought out in design through superb front end support. Franc connect is more than just a software vendor, they are part of our team.

    Cons

    Anything I did not like initially was updated rather quickly, so nothing at this time.

    Essentially, our organization is using the FranConnect application to run our franchise development function. We have multiple, geographically dispersed franchise development professionals utilizing the system to manage their day-to-day activities. The FranConnect system allows for centrally managed controls while providing all the functionality franchise development professionals require to help candidates make informed decisions. The mobile app is pretty cool too!

    Pros

    The FranConnect application is all you need to manage the franchise development function. It is clear as you use the system, that all the functionality you need to manage your franchise development efforts has been built in. The system accepts leads from outside franchise consultant systems reducing the amount of manual entry required. The reporting system is robust. The email drip component of the application is loaded with functionality though at times, can be a bit confusing. However, once you get used to the campaign module, you're able to get things done quickly. Overall, a lot of capabilities in a relatively user-friendly system.

    Cons

    The dislikes are few. The primary dislike is that at times, the user has to request additional help when first using some of the functionality of the system. Once you get a better sense of how specific tasks are done, the system becomes much easier to navigate. FranConnect bridges the gap with excellent technical support especially during the implementation stage. We worked with two customer reps. and both were extremely knowledgeable, very responsive and really knew their stuff.

    Ok software for managing your Franchise

    Pros

    Hard to say, not many positives for the product. Best pro of the product would have to be the ability to keep all of the Franchise related documents/files in one place so our users could see it. Also useful place to put one click links to secure websites/info for the users.

    Cons

    Literally everything else. Their search system is god awful, you cannot find anything by searching something, you have to comb through everything you have in your database to find anything. The way to download files is more confusing than ever, especially for your Franchise users. I can't say much about the info manager/sales section since I didn't work in that portion of the system.

    But updating users / Franchises was a nightmare, no ability to change multiple franchises at once, you have to manually go into each separate Franchise to check if it has the correct information, hit save, the system would then boot you out and put you back to a blank search page instead of the search page you originally created.

    Great tool from the sale to on going support.

    I take all incoming calls. I also call each of our franchisees on a regular basis. I mostly use the Info Manager module to task all my calls with the franchisees. I can also see other departments' contacts either phone calls and emails. It is easy to follow up. If I do get a customer complaint call or email I can attached it that franchise's record for future action.

    In the HUB, we have directories of all the franchisees, regional mentors, vendors and corporate office staff so we can have easy access to all of those in our system.

    Pros

    We take the franchisee from the sales people and move them through each phase of training and on to launch and ongoing support. I am able to track phone calls, tasks and even customer complaints using FranConnect. My gmail accounts syn over to my FranConnect accounts. In the HUB, we are able to provide a resource library, company news, and a chat room.

    Cons

    We have had a few server issues where the software ran slowly but it was fixed quickly.

    I have used FranConnect while working with a number of Franchisors. Have looked into others but have not found one as committed and responsive to the franchise industry as they are.

    Pros

    Once you get it set up for your specific company and learn the workarounds, FranConnect is relatively easy to use. The best thing about the software, quite frankly, is their tech support... very patient and thorough (although takes a while to get the wheels in motion on any given issue since they are "offsite" and there seems to be a long queue).

    Cons

    A number of the modules and steps within them are simply not intuitive to set up or navigate. Most difficult is the creation and implementation of e-mail campaigns. Granted, this could be because we are not on the most recent version.
