Shopventory is a cloud-based, real-time inventory management solution which can be integrated with a range of sales systems, including Square, Clover and PayPal Here point of sale (POS) systems, Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce for eCommerce, and QuickBooks Online. The platform offers a range of features including customizable alerts, barcode scanning, purchase orders, vendor management tools, reporting, and more.
With Shopventory, users can create bundles from their existing inventory, entering and combining ingredients, managing partial quantities of as little as 0.001, and tracking all components alongside finished products. Alternate versions of each bundle can also be created to reflect differences in discounts, commissions, wholesale, peak hours, and other variables. Custom condition-based alerts can be defined to notify users automatically via email when stock levels are low. Alerts are also displayed on the dashboard when users log in to the platform.
Shopventory’s vendor management tools include tags, which allow users to add labels to vendor profiles for easy identification of local vendors, those who offers shipping discounts, or for organizing vendors based on what they sell. Users can also assign items and their variants to individual vendors, and add notes to vendor profiles to keep track of important information. A range of reports can be generated in Shopventory, allowing users to track discounts, view full inventory valuations and detailed inventory histories, forecast inventory with predictive analytics, and track how inventory has changed over time.

We connect to Square and this system helps us know the Cost of Goods sold where Square lacks.
Cons
The software can be a little tricky to set up. Be sure to ask support if you have any questions before proceeding.

The customer service at Shopventory is amazing! The inventory management has really been great. I love the detailed reports. It’s a great addition to our Shopify account.
Pros
I like the cost averaging feature, first in/first out for products and being able to add freight costs to purchase orders. I also like all the notes you can add in.
Cons
You can make any adjustments in Shopify because Shopventory will override them. No barcode/scanning options on the Standard plan.

Looks good, but has a surprising amount of limitations for an inventory system

I was sold on the Demo that was provided, but after getting into the weeds of the product I learned...
I was sold on the Demo that was provided, but after getting into the weeds of the product I learned more about what our company needed and was shocked at how many limitations there are. We are now in the process of finding a more robust system.
Pros
It can integrate 2 shopify stores into 1 inventory source.
Cons
The list is pretty lengthy. Hopefully they can be fixed, but I've not seen any progress or even mention of progress over the past several months of using this software.
- Can't edit or update POs
- Can't see sku numbers when updating inventory at a product level
- PAR inventory levels on auto POs don't factor anything that is already on order
- Can't search for a PO by part number
Those are just a few off the top of my head...

Using the Clover POS is a nightmare for inventory control. It constantly loses information after it's been entered in. Thrive completely changed that for us! Now all of our inventory is bang on. It's easy to check activity on any sku and figure out where discrepancies may have happened.
Pros
Simple and easy to use interface. Customer service is by far the standout feature at Thrive. The entire team is SUPER helpful and are there to answer any questions you might have. When we first started with Thrive, I chatted with them almost daily for two months as I figured everything out. Absolutely fantastic!
Cons
The jump between their pricing tiers is kind of ridiculous and the next tier is very expensive. It would be great if you could add features a la carte. Also dislike that it counts gift cards as sales.

We were using Square as our in-store POS and WooCommerce as our e-commerce platform, and this is hands-down the best solution for inventory management in this use case. There are some quirks with Shopventory's bulk edit system that made certain tasks difficult (such as bulk changing categories) and there are inherent weaknesses in trying to use Square and WooCommerce together but this made a world of difference when we switched to it from a competitor—especially since Shopventory support and documentation are super helpful and competent.
Pros
Highly detailed stock history, super fast export of all SKUs with inventory quantity.
Cons
Making bulk changes to the product details can be unintuitive at times, and these bulk imports can take a long time to process.
