Uptrends is a SaaS platform with website and web performance monitoring solution which aims to deliver organizations and team-based business users with a complete cloud-based remote monitoring solution for websites, web apps, API's and servers. Requiring no coding knowledge to install, Uptrends offers a dashboard-based approach to reporting uptime, performance, errors, functionality and user activity. Drag-and-drop "tiles" function like widgets to build custom reports that can be saved, exported to PDF or Excel, and quickly shared via email to all stakeholder contacts.

Uptrends allows for proactive testing of website performance according to 184 global checkpoints, while identifying recurring browser errors with snapshot screen grabs. Multi-step web app transactions can be monitored and click paths created via the transaction recorder tool, with Uptrends leveraging both synthetic and real user monitoring techniques. DNS and SMTP/POP3 uptime snooping covers server monitoring, with broad industry-standard protocol support, while API testing can be automated with calls verified according to response data. Alert escalations can be set to keep everyone updated in real time, utilizing multiple channels across phone, email, SMS messaging, and third-party integrations with Slack and PagerDuty. Additionally, the Uptrends 2.0 app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone also supports on-the-fly monitoring with color-coded status updates, push notifications, and more.

    Beware of Predatory Licensing

    Pros

    The monitoring and alerting features worked well and did what they promised. The UI is not the most intuitive, but it works once you get past that.

    Cons

    The company relies on abusive licensing terms to retain customers with a ridiculous policy that says you have to pay for 3 months of service after you tell them you want to cancel. They won't issue a waiver on this.A company confident in their tool should encourage retention through a great product and customer service, not using the fine print in their license agreement to lock you in.

    Very difficult to cancel

    It was very difficult to cancel. Most SAAS companies allow a user to cancel within 30 days and they can cancel on their own typically with a cancellation button or form within their account. I tried to cancel but they require you to send in a cancellation request which is not typical for a SAAS service. I put in my request and they informed me I was to continue to pay for 90 days upon request to cancel. They continued to bill me for the 90 days after the request which was very unethical. When I asked about most SAAS companies allowing a 30 day notice, and with nothing specifying this on their main webpages, they then presented me with the fine print in their TOS that it's required to continue to pay for 90 days after the cancellation request. I told them I would be happy to pay for the 30 days but not 90 so they threatened to turn my account over to their legal team and used threatening tactics to get the remaining 60 days. After many back and forth threatening emails I finally decided to just pay the unpaid invoices just to get them off my back. This company has very unethical practices and I wish I would have read other user reviews with the same issues. Stay far away from them.

    Alerts are good when they work. You run out of credits quickly.

    Cons

    Expensive and support lacks. They use threatening tactics when you try to cancel.

    All in all, this is good software. Helped us improve our online shops - with monitoring response times over time and comparing them between the stores.

    Pros

    That it simply works and provides reliable data. We use Slack a lot, so slack integration is a big plus. Ease of use - the entry level is not too high, so anyone can configure it at the basic level. Customer service is great also - people are kind and always willing to help.

    Cons

    Transaction monitoring is a little bit expensive for what it does.Configuration is simple but has its limitations. Yet for our use case, it is fine and working.
