About IDU-Concept

IDU-Concept is a web-based corporate performance management (CPM) solution designed to assist medium-sized and large enterprises with their budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and fixed asset management.

IDU-Concept supports both financial and revenue budgeting, and a variety of budget types, including itemized budgeting, activity-based budgeting, project-based budgeting, depreciation budgeting, grade and employee budgeting, percentage and dynamic reallocations, and more. Data is captured automatically where possible, with a range of native ERP integrations, real-time updates and data aggregation. Users can capture budgets and view results instantly, and track budget status and progress with IDU-Concept’s visual indicators. Supporting documentation can be attached and linked when preparing budgets, and users can drill-down from company and aggregate accounts to individual accounts or cost centers.

IDU-Concept’s financial reporting module allows users to analyze variance between actual spend and forecasts, budget, and comparative years. Adverse variances which exceed preset tolerance levels can be highlighted, and managers can drill down to identify business areas responsible for any major variances, and capture reasons for variances in comments. Multiple screen layouts can be configured for specific users, to customize which calculations are performed and what data is displayed, and user-reporting profiles can also be created to display reports relevant to each user's specific requirements. IDU-Concept also offers a module for fixed asset management, verification, and monitoring.

    idu is very adapting to the forever changing environment for example activity based budgeting module can be modeled in such way that it can our needs most of the time.

    as administrators we still have a lot of manual intensive work to maintain the tool

    I have been working on the IDU programme/software for the last four years and i am impressed with...

    I have been working on the IDU programme/software for the last four years and i am impressed with the programme and all the functions that are offered. We mainly use it for our budgeting process and i am quite happy with how everything is structured. We recently upgraded to the latest version of IDU and there are some features that are no longer available and most people struggled to find their way on how to go about using the programme but the overall experience has been awesome and the wonderful team at IDU KZN has been very helpful.

    Pros

    The reports, i think they a have been designed in such a way that they even if a person has never worked on the IDU programme, one can easily interpret the information.

    Cons

    We always have to email our queries and not communicate our queries over the phone. I think IDU should introduce team viewer to be able to see on our screens what issues we have.

    Pros

    From an IT perspective the platform is stable and easy to support and configure. We are fortunate to retain SQL skills in-house so non-standard queries or requirements are easy enough to implement, in partnership with the IDU team. We have changed structures over the years so we've had to go back to our first designs a few times, but we've been successful there.

    SSIS requires specialised skills to support or administer.
