SingleOps

All-in-one business software for outdoor service businesses

About SingleOps

SingleOps is an all-in-one business management solution for the green industry including tree care, lawn care, landscaping, and sod farms. The cloud-based solution provides tools for sales, operations, and field service, including customer management, estimating, billing and invoicing, inventory tracking, job scheduling, and more. SingleOps is designed to help field service businesses grow their sales, eliminate duplicate data entry, enhance their customer experience, and manage their day-to-day tasks entirely digitally.

Users can manage their sales with tools including a CRM system, estimating, job-site mapping, proposal generation, invoicing, and payment processing, and payments can be automated to recur on a predefined schedule. Management tools within SingleOps allow users to schedule their upcoming jobs, assign jobs to employees, track job-related purchases, and manage all costs related to jobs. Reports such as job profit margin reports and estimated costs compared with actual cost can be generated to monitor outgoing and incoming finances. SingleOps facilitates field workforce management with users able to access work orders, GPS maps, timesheets, and more whilst on-the-go from any mobile device.

They have been very prompt with their service and always keep us informed of anything that goes on of changes and so on and they seem to know well how to run their program and fix issues that come up. They have very little downtime with their software.

Pros

This program offers where you can set up a line item as an optional checkbox that a customer can select if they want work done or not, and it will automatically add the price on based on what you have put in the box. This feature is one of my favorite parts about this program. I really like how the Google Maps seems to be connected internally Somehow when you put an address in and it’ll pop up how many miles you have to that location right away and you don’t have to go separately in and check it.

Cons

At first, we started out with an up charge for credit card processing fees and when customers would run their cards the system would automatically insert that charge for the customer then as time went on they later discontinued that feature now we have to figure out how to get it put on line items and it’s really quite annoying.

While we have had many issues with the initial set up and learning the ins and outs of SingleOps, the customer service has been fantastic. I'm sure they all are fed up with me as I seem to call out the many issues we have had. But I cannot say enough good things about their support team.

Pros

As I deal with the financial side of things, I love how easy the invoicing from SingleOps is.

Cons

I wish there was a "history" to track who changed what. I also think that once a proposal has been sent to a client, it should be "locked" in a sense so that everyone can go back to the original to see what had been changed and why.

Not upfront and honest about the cancellation policy and it is not clear in the terms and conditions. Seems the customer is just stuck if they don't like the program - even if the revisons were not done, the training was not complete and we never actually used the program live, except for some training samples.

Not able to accommodate two states with different sales tax rates. The formatting of the templates is wack. The payroll reports are tricky if you work in multiple states doing multiple tasks.

Pros

It had some functions like checklist options for the proposals.

Cons

You have to buy the software for $3600 + upfront and can only get a refund of 75% if cancelled in the first 30 days. Unfortunately, it will take at least 30 days to get all of your personal info, banking, customer base and templates uploaded, set up and get the system customized. Then you have to begin the training. I was only able to do training once a week, so four one hour sessions. Not enough time to decide whether or not this is going to work for your company. Once we decided it was not the best fit for us as it was too slow and not really all that user-friendly for someone working in the field. Also, a bit expensive when you add your key field employees, office people and sales teams.

We just spent $3600 on a program we never used. When I tried to get an explanation of why I wasn't offered the monthly plan here is the story we got: If you are on monthly billing you can cancel at any time. This type of billing doesn't have any commitments since its month to month. If you are on quarterly, bi-annual or annual billing you can cancel within the first 30 days and receive a partial refund of 75% of the total purchase price. When I told her we were not given that option, she stated: I understand your concern. We have a lot of clients that are grandfathered into the monthly billing so this isn't a billing service we offer actively to our new customer base. Hence, that is likely a reason the Account executive didn't offer this type of billing.

I love it. I love the program, the people, their mission. It is a bit "much" for our company in that there are lots of tools we don't even use, but I know we can grow into the program. We have already seen results in better time management, clearer communication, and increased profit margins!

Pros

What I love about SingleOps is how it streamlines the customer relations experience from start to finish! I have the ability to communicate with our clients from anywhere at any time. We can set up automatic reminders, our crew can make adjustments in the field, we can track specific product use, etc. All of our data is stored in a safe place accessible from anywhere. We can keep accurate reports on our Plant Health Care department which is required by state law. Their support staff is incredible and gets back to us immediately to help us sort through any issues.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve and some of our pen-and-paper guys struggled with the change. We implemented the program during our slow season which helped a lot.

Pros

We’ve been using this SingleOps for a couple years now. It’s super easy to use, has great features, and has great customer support.

Cons

The app on the mobile Is a little bit glitchy at times. A few times daily I will just get a white screen and I have to close the app in order to get rid of it.
