CoreIMS

About CoreIMS
CoreIMS is a customizable inventory management suitable for commercial and government solutions. Tailored to meet the needs of various industry business types, CoreIMS promises real time inventory visibility for 3PL, distribution and packaging companies, government agency, pharmaceutical, freight forwarders, importers and more. Providing support for multiple warehouses and stock locations, CoreIMS 4.0 is deployable online or on-premise to serve inventory operations via a 3-tier application stack interfaced by a browser-based frontend. RF device support is backed by barcode generation and label printing that includes NFES definitions, while automated reporting capabilities include 50+ customizable summary reports exportable in multiple formats.
An item dashboard UI allows inventory stock items to be recorded by class, category, type, preferred location, date and any number of custom fields. SKU and UPC support is then joined by assignment of Bill of Material (BOM) plus the attachment of item images. Storing features aid the processing of physical inventory operations with wireless / tethered device compatibility, with tools for handling adjustments, movements etc. Receiving and shipping features then span receipt and label generation, cross docking, return tracking, order batching, packing list printing and back order processing. Replenishment offers inter-warehouse transfers, min/max quantities per site, plus the delivery of Email notifications. In addition, CoreIMS offers integration options for QuickBooks, Sage 50/100 (US and Canadian Editions), Microsoft Excel, plus USPS and UPS Worldship. Flat file import and export is also possible, while XML data input / output offers further connectivity with third-party systems.
Key benefits of CoreIMS
• Available as a cloud hosted or local install license, CoreIMS is based on a 3-tier application architecture across database, web/application server, and client; giving users an interface onto inventory management operations via internet browser, mobiles and scanners.
• CoreIMS 4.0 associates every inventory stock item with a location within any number of warehouses, with support for those operations using RF devices and barcode scanning, generation, label printing etc.
• CoreIMS Tracks receiving, returns and shipping operations while allowing attributes and location details to be specified, with CoreIMS generating printable documents, receipts, pallet or container labels, and packing lists.
• A built-in reporting tool, based on Crystal Reports, provides over 50 customizable summary reports with multiple export formats (XLS, PDF, DOC & HTML), detailing item availability, receiving order / shipping order and back order statuses, 3PL invoices and more.
• Third party integration capabilities for QuickBooks, Sage 50/100 and Microsoft Excel is joined by flat file import and export, with further external system integration made possible through XML data input / output.

Core IMS barcoding and scanning
Reviewed on 2024/04/23
Pros
Core IMS allowed us to finally use barcoding and scanning with the accounting system we use. It saved us from having to abandon our accounting system and transition to a new ERP. A move to a new ERP would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and months of disruption. If you use Sage 50 or a similar accounting system, adding Core IMS will get you modern warehousing/barcoding/inventory management.
Cons
Integration with Sage is a bit clunky, but this is a limitation of Sage more than a limitation of Core IMS. It works properly, but isn't completely intuitive.

Core is a decent entry level WMS, but lacks a lot of key features and frequently has technical issues. Decent value for the price for a small warehouse.

It is a good tool for inventory control.
It is a good tool for inventory control.
Pros
It works well with QuickBooks and it's a good price for what you get.
Cons
Just the initial start up is always a challenge on new soft ware. We are still learning as we go. They do training but you don't always know the questions to ask for the information you need.
