Integrated dealer management system for used car dealers

About IDMS

iDMS is a cloud-based dealer management system designed for independent used car dealerships which provides tools for vehicle evaluation, inventory management, deal structuring, collections management, task automation,accounting system integration, report customization, and more. The software can be integrated with DealerSocket’s other products including the digital marketing CRM and inventory management platforms.

With iDMS’s evaluation tool, users can analyze trade and auction vehicles without the hassle of adding potential acquisitions to their inventory. Full flexibility is provided when structuring deals, with support for applicant references, irregular payments, accessories, and aftermarket products and services. In-house and third-party lender financing are also supported. iDMS automates the collections process with past-due tracking and color-coding.

Users can create queues in iDMS to organize their accounts, deals, and inventory, and set task frequencies for iDMS to automate tasks which would otherwise require employee input. Two-way integrations with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online allow users to manage their accounting, and the reporting module provides users with insight into the performance of their business.

It is a great tool that provides as much information as you need all in one place. I'd say that IDMS is a worthy investment for any BHPH dealer looking to simplify their collections process.

Pros

If you are in the auto industry and you are looking for a software that makes your collections job easier and at the same time provides you with the data to assess performance, this software is definitely for you. It has many capabilities to make your job easier if you know how to work with it.

This software in particular, has given us something we did not have fully before. It has enabled our team and customers to make the payment process much easier and friendly. Which for us translate in less time dealing with issues and more time selling or creating new opportunities.

Cons

It is not as user friendly as other products out there. The training it's a bit painful and can be quite overwhelming. It takes time to get used to it.

Pros

The software is easy to use when it functions properly. It automates a lot for us and saves time when working through accounts.

Cons

There are a lot of glitches when they are updating the software and a lot of times the system lags behind.

My experience was good at first. But then people started quitting once Solera took over and now I understand why. Once the customer support was outsourced the software lost it's edge. Now nothing ever gets fixed and nothing is ever updated and there's not even any plans on updating anything!

Pros

It's comfortable to use once you get past the vastness of the program.

Cons

Everything in the program has become archaic. It was very modern in 2015 but there has been NO change to the program since. If you want to run a report and need something specific on it then you have to create the report and to do that you BETTER understand their system and it's not easy. Their support has become unbearable to deal with. Since Solera took over and outsourced the support you can't get anything answered or fixed. Every problem you call about has to be "escalated" which just means it's not getting fixed. There's so many simple things that other DMS' do that iDMS just will not fix. I can't even print out a deal structure for a customer if I'm figuring a deal. I can't print out a washout on a deal so that I can figure front and backend profit. This system has just become outdated and don't work for the modern car dealership.

Pros

Went from great service to Solera buying them out and can't get anyone to help.

Went from great service to Solera buying them out and can't get anyone to help.

Pros

I liked in the beginning before Solera took over that the customer support was on point. Now, no one answers the phone but yet a message says someone will us back but no one ever does and when you do speak to someone they do not understands my dialect. Very frustrating especially considering how much it costs. Its ridiculous! Finding another software company as we speak!

Cons

The customer support is not even close to what it was in the beginning.
