Dynamics Billing Overview

Dynamics Billing is a web-based billing platform which supports a range of pricing models, including subscription billing, one-time payments, usage based billing, and volume discounts. The solution enables management of product catalogs, pricing rules, quotes, invoices, customer accounts, and more.

The product catalog module in Dynamics Billing allows users to manage any type of service, contract, plan, or bundle, with support for product hierarchies. Users can create a single pricing plan for a specific product grouping, and Dynamics Billing can automatically manage the assignment of pricing plans to similar products within the hierarchy. Multiple charge options are supported, including recurring, one-time, usage based, volume discount, volume cap, unit-based and revenue-based volume commitment, and transactional discount.

Dynamics Billing automatically generates invoices during the billing cycle and can be previewed at any stage. Invoice layouts can be customized, and multiple languages and currencies are supported. Invoices can be delivered to clients automatically by email with configurable workflows. The collections module allows users to create multiple automated collection action levels of for overdue accounts, and automatically apply late payment charges to future invoices.

We replace a 20+ year old legacy billing system with Dynamics Billing. The legacy system had many unique features that the team from Dynamics worked closely with us to meet our needs and worked to implement a solution that gave our business additional flexibility for future growth.

Pros

System is easy to use
End users learning curve was very short
Flexible
Runs on a modern platform

Cons

We process millions of transaction daily and have unique billing record export requirements, back end system performance can be slow. Dynamics teams has been responsive and they are currently working with us to improve performance times.
Implementation time was a little longer than anticipated.
