Catalyst is an electronic data collection solution for ABA (applied behavior analysis) practitioners. The cloud-based tool allows users to gather a variety of data types using a mobile device and use that data to generate custom, real-time reports on metrics such as skills acquisition, behavior, and more. Specifically designed for ABA professionals working with individuals with autism and special needs, Catalyst provides tools for collecting data, populating it into graphs, and customizing reports for tailored business analysis.
ABA practitioners can use Catalyst to gather skills acquisition data from their students with tools for tracking discrete trial teaching (DTT) targets, duration targets, task analysis targets, frequency and rate data, quantity and anecdotal data, and much more. The platform also facilitates the collection of behavioral data with the ability to input observations such as the location of the incident, the severity of the situation, consequences, antecedents, and more. All data logged within the Catalyst system can be formatted into visual graphs, and these reports can be customized to suit the user’s needs. All data is updated in real time and customized reports can be stored within the system or shared with external partners in one click. Catalyst can be integrated with practice management solutions such as AccuPoint, webABA, and CodeMetro to sync client and employee records.

Pros
You can make changes to submissions as long as the submission period is still open (not a feature you normally see). If there are any exceptions the tool allows you to open it just for a specific person. Submission and review status' are updated real time on the site. The tool allows you to customize reviewer metrics to assign people or it can be manual. Reviewers will get an email notification that they've been assigned. Has blind and double blind settings. Users can customize and assign roles so certain people can only access and view assigned tasks. Reporting is tied into email system so you don't have to manually enter or check off any emails or names.
Cons
No automatic emails. Cannot customize colors, only the top banner.

Pros
Nothing. Used to be able to use the product to get access to accurate data. Not now with the bugs and issues.
Cons
Tons of unfixed bugs and crashing problems. Makes your data incorrect and you have to spend hours to fix it. Absolutely horrible customer service and follow up/ follow through. The new app is so bad that we are using the old one and that one has bugs and unfixed issues too. Their response time is awful and they do not give you a date for when they will fix things. You are left being better off going back to paper and pencil. Get a different app before you waste your resources on catalyst!

Pros
I love the variety of options available when viewing and analyzing skill acquisition or behaviors targeted for reduction. Being able to view the trend lines/averages really helps when analyzing the success of programs or interventions.
Cons
Very minimal, but I don't love the aesthetic of Catalyst.
