Affordable, customizable web-based tool to support employee engagement

We were able to quickly launch a customized program without investing internal IT resources into developing the solution.
Pros
This low-cost, web-based employee recognition program is intuitive and easy to navigate both for end users and program administrators.
Easily compliments a robust employee recognition strategy by offering leaders, managers, and staff an additional venue for sharing and receiving recognition.
Recognition is linked to specific behaviors that demonstrate and exemplify company values and service standards, which serves to sustain an organizational culture. The program also facilitates and encourages peer-to-peer recognition and team-based recognition.
The layout resembles popular social media websites so navigation is intuitive and no user training is needed. Ease of use supports rapid adoption.
The ability of users to customize profiles with gender-neutral avatars or profile photos allow staff authentic self-expression and supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Translation services allow users to further customize their experience.
The technology is reliable and we rarely experience technical issues (which are always minor). When users request service, support is always impressively responsive.
Cons
This software can help sustain an organizational culture but isn't a comprehensive solution to employee recognition. Organizations that don't have other recognition tactics already in place or launched alongside this program risk disengaging employees. Recognition efforts still need to be reflective of the full range of staff needs but this program certainly helps meet the need for a public venue to recognize and connect staff across an international organization with a large geographic footprint.
Response from Workstars
Thanks for taking the time to leave this great review, Dawn.
Enabling organizations to launch a recognition and rewards program that fits their objectives is key to us - and without the need for extensive additional development time or onboarding support. If employees would like some extra help in navigating Workstars, we have just launched a suite of explainer videos which they can access at any time, including on how to set up their profiles, send their first recognitions and pick the perks they'd like to receive!

Workstars is wonderful. Onboarding was a breeze. The only issue I've encountered is the time zone difference between us and their team, so customer service is not always easily accessible.
Pros
I love that the platform is focused on peer to peer recognition; the first thing you see when you log in is your recognitions wall and you can recognize your peers so easily.
Cons
I wish there were more notifications or summaries; maybe notify users when someone in their department gets recognized, or send out a weekly summary with some recognitions from that week.

Engaging, seems to help turn the gears.
Pros
I thought this was going to be a simple email to disregard. Nope.
Other employees started using the system and it grew and grew now just about everyone in the office is using the platform to recognize each others accomplishments.
GOOD TO GO TEAM!
Cons
-- Initial User Setup is bulky
-- SSO is +/- not 100%
-- Small footprint for deployment and use.
-- Data is secure and tabled for access.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the ease of use, set up and personation of the product with MURR. I have created, purchased and used sever in my career. None compare to the product and or service provided by Workstars.
Pros
The ease of set up and integration of our branding within the look and feel. This has been key to initial buy in from the team leads and managers during the soft launch.
Cons
Management here like personalization and the lack of ability to have "MURR" branded badges and or buttons for awards.

Easy to use, intuitive software with intelligent recognition features
Reviewed on 2018/02/12
Pros
The recognition software is intuitive and intelligent, offering enterprise-style features at a low per-employee cost. It is simple to launch and easy to administer with a suite of integrations to manage data directly from your HR database or publish recognition through Yammer, Chatter or Slack channels.
The focus on recognition, not financial reward, takes the pressure off budgets but if you do want to add rewards to your program, the financial management is transparent, allowing you to easily track spend. Manager Perks are a great feature, allowing you to give out personlised low-cost 'perks' to keep your recognition program fun and engaging.
Reporting is one of the standout features of this software, with useable insights delivered dashboard style. Reports roll up from an employee level to give team insights to managers and detailed analysis to directors.
Overall, outstanding software that is flexible and delivers great recognition features without a big price tag.
Cons
A couple of the set-up steps could be simplified, something I understand is being addressed in future versions.
