Cloud-based spreadsheet and collaboration platform

About Google Sheets

Google Sheets is a cloud-based spreadsheet platform designed to help businesses of all sizes collaborate with clients and partners to create and edit data on spreadsheets. The artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled system allows employees to add collaborators to projects, view real-time changes in the sheet, and chat with team members from within documents.

The application lets administrators set expiration dates on projects and grant permissions to download, copy, or print content among specific collaborators. Stakeholders can utilize the explore functionality to view trends and gain data insights through customizable visuals in real-time. Google Sheets offers data loss prevention (DLP) module, which enables organizations to detect potential data breaches and prevent data leak by blocking sensitive data visibility among unauthorized members.

Google Sheets provides an API and Zapier integration, which lets businesses connect with several third-party platforms such as BigQuery, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Apps Script, Trello, Slack, Mailchimp, and more. Other features include information rights management (IRM), customizable templates, analytics, collaboration, survey creation, revision history, conditional formatting, and more.

It's very useful to work with numbers and text.
I use it to make Google Ads keyword combinations and much more and upload it to Google Ads.
It's very nice to get a online xml feed and put it in a sheet in an easy way.

Pros

You can work anywhere, it's fast and reliable (don't loose your work because the internet is down).
You can use it with data from online sources, like xml, csv and others.
Have a very good API, you can automate many process from your computer, smartphone or cloud.
You can use Google Scripts to increment your formulas.
It's free, with all features.
You can share (and work at same time with other people) your sheets in a easy way.

Cons

Could be slower in case of many data and complex formulas.
Do not have a good support (I think it only have online forums).

Overall, I still prefer it because of the flexibility I get from working with it. It's free and easily accessible - after all, who doesn't like freebies?

Pros

Google Spreadsheets significantly reduces a lot of stress switching between desktop and Chrome browsers during work- We use it all the time for contact listing and management.

For me, it's an impeccable app because it's cloud-based. I can easily perform my daily copy and paste without hassles. It's not perfect, however, it's better than my old days excel.

Our team works with it a lot because it lets us easily share files among ourselves, collaborate on particular projects, and synch our workflow seamlessly.

No need to install any resource-consuming app on my desktop, no need to regularly do "CRTL + S" to save my work - no more of this stress.

Cons

It's a little limited in features. Could be very hard to use formulae and do my habitual formatting like I used to do in Excel.

It's nice to have data access everywhere. It's not nice to have to constantly reformat data whose format should never change. As you can see, the Cons outweigh the Pros for my use.

Pros

Ease of use-Feature clone of MS Excel. Being familiar with Excel makes it easy to use.Accessibility-Anywhere you have a computer and internet access you can access program & data.

Cons

It doesn't remember basic settings. I decided to setup a checkbook register so I could update it online. Sheets is sporadic in remembering format settings such as :1. Date column format (99/99/99)2. Money column format ($9999.99)3. Money column format (debits bold, red)4. Money column format (credits bold, green)5. Doesn't remember last location. A checkbook register gets lots of entries! I have to Hide hundreds of rows, then Unhide them all if I want to look for one entry from last month, then Hide them all again for daily data entry. This makes it unwieldy for data manipulation..I never know what it's going to remember and what it's going to forget. In Excel I set and forget; Excel remembers formats ALL THE TIME. Sheets does not.

Really useful for dropping data into, and checking/editing on the fly from mobile, sharing results or sheets with colleagues

Pros

Editing with collaborators and sharing results, even at the same moment.
We also import Google Forms data and integrate with Zapier to create docs and pdfs,

Cons

Every now and then, there's something you can do in excel that sheets won't do, but this happens way less often now. Lots of new functionality

Overall, my experience with Google Sheets has been highly positive. The intuitive interface, real-time collaboration, and versatile functionalities for data analysis make it a valuable tool. While occasional performance issues with large datasets exist, the collaborative features significantly outweigh any drawbacks, enhancing efficiency in various tasks

Pros

The real-time collaboration feature is a standout aspect of Google Sheets. It's incredibly convenient to work simultaneously with others, making teamwork seamless and boosting productivity.

Cons

At times, handling very large datasets in Google Sheets can lead to performance lags or slow loading times, especially when using complex formulas or extensive data manipulations.
