Format has all the features you need as a photographer for a low price.

Pros
The themes and customization of the design is the best part about Format. Each design looks truly professional and creative. The way the images are displayed is critically important for me as a photographer and I've found that Format has the best designs out of many portfolio hosting sites. I'm also amazed at the price per month - other portfolio webhosts can charge more for essentially the same features.
Cons
I live in Toronto and since this is a Toronto based company I would prefer the price to be in CAD.

i'm still working on my site and and it wont be fully ready for another few weeks, but i really am enjoying the process of making it and its been fun using format. its all new to me making a website and the staff/ team have been so helpful. it been great!
Pros
its just so easy to use and get your head around and its fun trying to figure it all out. My favourite thing has been just playing around with the layout and getting things the way i want them to look for my site. the software really is user friendly and a pleasure to use.
Cons
nothing really, just kind of wished there might have been a few more simple/plain themes to choose from. that are so basic that they dont take away from the work or at least you have the option to further tweak the designs yourself.

I was able to create my first website for my business without hiring a professional.
I was able to create my first website for my business without hiring a professional.
Pros
Building a website takes all of 10 minutes. Lots of customization options and with my package I can upload as many images as I'd like to show off to clients. I also love using the proofing options so my clients can view and pick out there favorite images from their person session.
Cons
There is no automatic slideshows for my website. I'd love to have my main page have pictures that fade in and out automatically.

I’ve tried seemingly every common website building company out there - I’m so happy with Format after two years that I’m constantly raving about it to my photographer friends. It negates any need for separate cloud storage, client proofing software, and website/portfolio design products.
Pros
Amazing functionality and endless features that are constantly being improved and added to! The annual package is the most ideal solution for a small business owner like me who is focused on streamlining all of my storage, portfolio, proofing and website needs.
Cons
I would love to see an improvement to accessing site editing functions on mobile. I’m frequently traveling for work, and am often away from desktop/laptop access to my dashboard, which makes quick changes to the website difficult.

Format served me well and provided very good customer service. I used it happily for a small number of years albeit at a fairly simple level. It allowed me to share galleries that provided a reasonable user experience for my clients and to promote my business with an attractive website.
Pros
I settled on Format because it offered most features I was looking for at an acceptable price point. At the time I was looking mainly for a way to share galleries with clients for review. What I liked most was the ability to customise templates via HTML.
The customer service from Format was very good.
Cons
The e-commerce functionality did not meet my needs at the right price point, and I found the configuration options for client galleries limiting.
It's important to note that I last used Format close to 2 years ago.
