About Amazon Aurora
Aurora is a relational database management system that helps businesses manage, migrate and run MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other traditional enterprise databases in the cloud. The platform is managed by Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), which facilitates hardware provisioning, application patching, automated backup, cluster replication, and more across the database.
Aurora Serverless lets businesses automatically adjust scalability, performance, availability zones, and storage requirements according to commercial databases running on the platform. With Amazon VPC, administrators can configure a virtual private network to launch AWS resources and secure and control applications using cryptographic keys in AWS Key Management Service (KMS). It also ensures recovery from physical storage failures by storing data replicas in multiple availability zones and creating backups of codes, drivers, applications, and other information in Amazon S3.
Aurora provides enterprises with Amazon Global Database, letting them manage distributed applications, low-latency reads, and disaster recovery during outages. IT Teams can utilize Amazon CloudWatch to gain insights into performance of hybrid, on-premises, and AWS applications.
