About ReferralMD

ReferralMD is a patient engagement software that helps healthcare organizations manage referrals, e-consults, scheduling and other operations on a centralized platform. The referral dashboard allows administrators to build custom speciality-based workflows to receive, send, review, monitor, and track inbound and outbound referrals.

ReferralMD enables supervisors to assign and track tasks, and receive completion status updates, including due, completed, to-do, and overdue. The built-in public directory lets patients search and schedule appointments with specialists based on location, insurance, and availability. Physicians can discuss patient care plans by sending and receiving messages and files, such as x-rays, labs, and dicoms. The feedback loop uses if this then that (IFTTT) rules to automatically send notifications to patients in order to request specific information. It also lets users create doctor scorecards based on location, specialties, experience, average referrals, and wait-times.

ReferralMD comes with an API, which allows businesses to integrate the system with several third-party solutions, including AdvancedMD, Allscripts, NextGen, and SalesForce. Administrators can create department based referral intake forms and workflow checklists with specific questions. Leaders can generate reports to gain insights into referral trends, leakage rate, and provider-specific referral volume.

All the information being stored in one place is really helpful and the product itself is easy to use.


The only con is that the patients have to be entered in manually.
