OEM automative repair and diagnostic software

About ALLDATA

ALLDATA is a cloud-based OEM diagnostic suite that helps automotive businesses conduct vehicle inspections based on repair information provided through interactive color wiring or OEM diagrams. Technicians can generate high quality images, view diagrams for inspections, highlight or hide components, and toggle between OE and non-OE diagrams for comparison.

Shop owners can use the ALLDATA Diagnostics solution to conduct vehicle DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) scans, export pre-and post-scan PDF reports, and access relevant repair articles. Using the ALLDATA mobile application, technicians can read and decode VIN, zoom-in or out on diagrams for analysis, migrate from an identified DTC to the required testing procedure, and utilize OBDII diagnostic to view P-codes, live sensor data, emission levels, and more. It also includes a shop management module, which helps businesses store details about customers, vehicles, and parts, prepare estimates, repair orders, and invoices, schedule jobs, and track technicians' time and costs.

ALLDATA provides access to a variety of collision OEM procedures such as sectioning, structural adhesives, panel replacements, or ADAS and sends notifications to mechanics, ensuring vehicles are repaired according to factory specifications. The software also offers integration with various third-party applications including QuickBooks, myCarFax, Demandforce, MechanicNet, and Worldpay.

Key benefits of ALLDATA

• ALLDATA enables businesses in the automotive industry to gain access to up-to-date OEM repair information in the form of maintenance procedures, diagnostic details, TSBs, DTCs, and more.

• It offers color-coded wiring and OEM diagrams, which helps users streamline shop’s estimating and repair processes.

• Employees can use the application to view wired diagrams side by side, highlight or hide wires and components, and print multiple diagrams in bulk.

• ALLDATA enables technicians to conduct vehicle scans, export PDF reports, and access relevant repair articles in real-time.

• The platform allows users to retrieve and clear manufacturer codes, display parameter IDs (PIDs) and live sensor data from various vehicle systems.

Getting better every year

I find that you either love it or hate. I find it to be sufficient for what we need to do but at times it is found that labor times used will end up costing us labor hours due to the lower than normal posted times in the labor guide. However, the how to's and diagnosis help is great.

Pros

Ease of use, lay out and search options. Very easy to look up even complicated labor times and procedures.

Cons

Inconsistent labor times. We sometimes use a different labor guide because we find the labor times listed sometimes reflect only the warranty time and not the cash rate which is frustrating because some jobs can have a variance of 4-5 hours between alldata and the labor guides we have available to us. This is the case with most model year vehicles that have no been out for a minimum of 3+ years (i.e 2018 model vehicles have little to no labor ref right now on the platform)

We implemented it about 10 years ago. Our mechanics use it almost daily. It has helped improve our repair time and keeps us from sending out equipment to other repair shops. It is a great tool.

Pros

We can quickly get information needed to complete repairs on most vehicles. The level of detail given to help our mechanics complete repairs is impressive. It is also very affordable.

Cons

There isn't anything we don't like about it.
