About WeTravel

WeTravel is a cloud-based software designed to help international tour operators, retreat and wellness centers, and travel agencies handle trip bookings and collect payments from customers. Agents can create customizable booking pages with details including trip description, itinerary, pricing, and other requirements.

Tour operators can retrieve participants’ details using the search functionality, view selected packages, and track their payment status on a centralized platform. Managers can use WeTravel to modify booking information and facilitate communication with clients via messaging. It also lets users create custom widgets by adding texts or colors and embed them into business websites to facilitate registration processes.

WeTravel provides a dashboard, which allows customers to view upcoming trips, create wish lists, and cancel existing bookings. Agencies can securely collect documents from clients and download participants’ information in Excel format. It also helps supervisors add reference documents to booking pages, update the availability status of tour packages, and configure team members’ access permissions.

Pros

Finding a gateway provider that will underwrite transactions related to travel is complicated. No amount of explaining risk mitigation or procedures seems to satisfy. Likewise, finding an affordable and easy to use provider for reservations and payments is very difficult. We Travel has been our solution. We're 100k in revenue at the moment and very happy with the process.

Cons

If you needed high levels of customization, the white label and customized features seem to be still in development. But for standard travel bookings, this is pretty great.

We Love WeTravel!

Pros

As the owner of an international retreat travel business (SolSeed Retreats) that runs over 20 trips annually, WeTravel has been a huge asset to us! Not only are is their customer service team incredibly helpful and responsive, but their trip registration pages and payment processing features are very user friendly and easy to navigate and set up to your liking. We also love how they are constantly improving their softwares’ functionality and adding new features for payment collection in multiple currencies, vendor payouts, registrant information collection and more. The best part? Their fees are only 1% of your trip’s revenue, which is much less than Square or PayPal. We look forward to continuing to partner with WeTravel for our retreat registration and payment processing for years to come!

Cons

The only con would be information collection. We're still trying to optimize the way we collect info from retreat participants to make it as easeful as possible. WeTravel has some great information collection features, but it would be nice to have more comprehensive and user friendly information collection abilities, or even an app where you can push out notifications to participants, and collect info from them that way.

The ability for us to make individual payment options available to our groups is wonderful. The ability to modify and upsell our customers and adjust within WeTravel is NOT good, which limits our ability to drive more business our and your way. Our number one complaint from our customers at this point is the frustration with our payment system. They are told they are paid in full, then add something and cant make payments any longer. They to issue a refund is a nightmare. We have donors who send payments, so occasionally we will get an over payment, which then messes up all accounting features. Your system is seriously lacking in this area.

Pros

The ability for our office and the customers to access and use the information is great.

Cons

The limitations and ability to meet the needs or customers are lacking substantially within our market, and they could easily be modified to create a solid customer experience, however they are not there yet and your limitations of accessing people to respond in a timely manner are not good. When you're dealing with peoples money, you need to have quick response times. Online support and an excuse of 'We don't have telephones to talk to you' is a terrible response. Planning ahead when we are working together is fine, but when there are problems, waiting isn't good for customer relations.

I was hesitate about using We Travel. My first trip I used them, he allowed me to limit my time in collecting the payment. Clients pay thru the site and I can go later and reconcile my books.

Pros

The software is good for my travel business. What I like most about the software is the ease of setting up my trips. It is very user friendly.

Cons

What I like least about the software is the limited option is the 12 month limit payment option. Being a travel agent, trips can be planned over 2 years and it limits me to set payments for only 12 months max.

An Occasional Travel Experience

Pros

My wife and I gathered a group of friends, and some brought their friends, for a trip to Europe in July 2020. Of course, the trip had to be cancelled due to the corona virus. This was a personal effort, not conncected with a business or industry.

We set up our trip with our travel agency, and then we used WeTravel to recruit our travel companions and manage the financial components. The program was easy to learn, and technical assistance was always one "chat" away. We liked the facility to add photos to each day of our itinerary, to offer several payment plans, to add disclaimers where needed. When we were prepared to do so, we sent the web page to our friends, often adding a personal message of encouragement to the pitch.

As each party came on board, they were able to register and submit deposits. WeTravel sent our welcome letter to the new travelers and began the periodic reminders to those who chose the multiple payment plans. All worked smoothly, and we received no complaints from any of our travel partners.

We enjoyed worry-free security of the travel funds held by WeTravel, and each transfer of collected funds to the travel agency was handled in a professional and timely manner. The accounting of total funds and of each individual's payments was readily available throughout the process.

Cons

We shared this suggestion with the administrators of the WeTravel site.

We would like to have a print-friendly option within the program, so that we could print a travel itinerary to hand out or send through the mail to friends.

Much beyond that oprtion -- and we would be willing to pay extra for this -- how about a trip publisher component so that we could download information and create a day by day travel description booklet for each traveler?

Like least about this software? Nothing that comes to mind.
