Soundtrap

About Soundtrap
Soundtrap is a cloud-based music school software designed to help artists and educational institutions create music and podcasts, modify audio recordings, conduct remote learning sessions for students, and more. Teachers can edit audio transcripts, handle assignments and lesson plans, connect microphones, guitars, and other devices to the platform and invite staff members to collaborate on projects.
Soundtrap allows artists to record and transcribe podcasts, upload transcripts to Spotify to enhance discoverability, share interview links with guests to remotely join podcasts, and add sound effects using audio resources from Freesound. Educators can access lesson plans for students to create radio commercials or ringtones, learn about music notes, and more according to requirements. Users can share creative content with bandmates in real-time, store created projects in a cloud repository, communicate with collaborators via built-in video or text chat capabilities, and utilize the auto-tune functionality to modify audio recordings.
Soundtrap facilitates integration with various third-party learning management, digital classroom, and other systems such as Noteflight, Google Classroom, Schoology, Musicfirst, and Canvas, among others. The mobile application also helps artists record music or podcasts and share them via email, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, or Soundcloud.

If you ever used Garageband on a MAC then this great for you. Soundtrap uses the same type of platform and like Apple, you can make and publish podcast episode on Spotify like Apple Podcast. It keeps it all in the family. which is funny since Spotify has Anchor.
Pros
You can create song arrangements, podcast episodes, Audio drama like NPR, Interviews, or sound recordings. Soundtrap are giving you 18,000 sounds for you to create music or episodes with. They also got software instruments to use for your recording. You can put the program on your smart phone or tablet and access from your computer. Plus, you get access to autotune and publish your creation to Spotify.
Cons
So, all your work is online so you have to get good wifi to connect. Plus it is subscription based so depending on what you are using it for(music, podcast, audio drama) then it will come with a cost. It is interesting how the Storyteller and Musicmaker supreme are the same price even though they are different. More money give you more thing. Plus, it is only IOS (Ipad, Iphone) system so you can't use it on Android products. But you can use it for free to get you started.

As an intern in the pharmaceutical product development and research department at the University, my experience with Soundtrap was limited. However, I was able to appreciate the versatility and user-friendly nature of the platform for music creation. During some projects related to video production and educational content, we used Soundtrap to compose background music and sound effects. The intuitive interface and numerous editing options allowed us to achieve satisfactory results in a short time. Additionally, the ability to collaborate online was immensely helpful in working efficiently and achieving the desired outcomes.
Pros
sondtrap offers a wide range of advantanges of music entrusiasts. With its intuitive, cloud-based interface, users can create music online quickly and easily. It provides a variety of virtual instruments, effects, and pre-recorded loops to help users develop their creativity. Additionally, Soundtrap facilitates real-time collaboration with other musicians, making it ideal for group projects or receiving feedback and advice from professionals. Its compatibility with different platforms and devices allows for accessibility from anywhere, anytime. The high-quality audio recording and editing feature is another major advantage, enabling users to produce tracks with excellent sound quality.
Cons
While Soundtrap has many advantages, it also has some limitations. The free version offers a limited number of tracks and storage hours, which can be restrictive for advanced users. Furthermore, its library of pre-recorded sounds could benefit from greater variety and frequent updates. Some users may find the initial learning curve a bit steep due to the abundance of features and options available on the platform.

Why I love SoundTrap

I really enjoy all of the cool loops and One-Shots there are and all of the different artists there are to choose from. I found this service very useful and cool and I will keep using it for years to come.
Pros
I really like how easy it is to use. It puts all of the basic things you need right in from of you. It also lets you directly upload your music to YouTube and SoundCloud or your podcasts directly to Spotify! Also, I like how their loop search engine can detect certain songs from certain artists and help you find loops that sound like them.
Cons
Over 17,000+ loops are locked under a paywall. Same thing as exporting a song in a .ogg and .wav file. I think that maybe a little bit could be less restricted and things would be a lot smoother for an artist who doesn't have a budget at all.
