sevdesk is a web-based accounting platform for entrepreneurs and small businesses. It adapts to industry needs, from cleaning services to civil engineering or musicians. The interface is available in many languages including German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Greek.
sevdesk is available across three plans. Basic features include the management of invoices, quotes, reminders, products, customers, and tasks. In it's most popular form, the accounting solution also provides evaluations, AI-supported receipt capture, connection to online banking, and further useful features. sevdesk also offers a dashboard and reporting tools. Collaboration is made possible thanks to task management and assignment, audit logs, and access permissions management.
Tax advisors can login to a self service portal to access their client’s sevsesk account. It provides real-time data and allows exports in a few clicks.
Free apps (iOS and Android) give users the ability to access sevsesk from any device. Daily backups are run and data is encrypted with TLS. sedesk is GDPR compliant and offers digital archiving as well as a documentation audit log.

- Despite the availability of English as UI language, some parts of the interface remain in German
- No multi-mandate: accounting for several entities (in a group/holding company context) requires separate, unconnected, licenses
- Occasional bugs and parts of the product showing internal errors

Best accounting software for small businesses

Pros
SevDesk is a very easy to use accounting system, that helps small business a lot to keep track of their finances. It has just enough functionality for small to mid-sized business to not be overwhelming.
The best feature is to create reports, which are ready to hand in to the tax office. Also, you can connect your bank account which lets you connect documents to transactions: helps a lot with staying ahead of the chaos.
Cons
30€ a month for the middle plan is a lot, especially for freelancers, even though I think it’s worth it, considering the trouble you’re avoiding.

The easy of use and cloud storage for invoices are great.
Cons
The filters and reports are good only when you are still small. After you grow, you miss a lot of useful filters.

Für mich hat der Umstieg gelohnt. Der Support ist gut und antwortet in der Regel recht schnell. Ich habe mir meine eigene Anbindung mit dem API geschrieben und so unsere Hotelsoftware mit sevDesk selbst verbunden. Ein echter Gewinn.
Pros
Der Umstieg von der Papierbuchführung mit dem Steuerberater hin zur eigenen digitalen Buchführung hat für mich ohne Buchhaltungskenntnisse prima geklappt. Für kleinere Unternehmen ist es das richtige Tool. Ich spare jetzt mit sevDesk erheblich viel Geld und Zeit im Vergleich zur bisherigen papierbasierten Buchführung, für die ich damals einen Steuerberater benötigt hatte
Cons
