Faddom

About Faddom
When using Faddom, you will gain detailed visibility of your entire IT environment. Faddom's hybrid dependency mapping solution will app your application, networks and dependencies in real-time. Faddom is completely platform-agnostic and has limitless use-cases from cloud migration to change management and micro-segmentation too.
When using Faddom there is no requirement for firewalls to be opened. The software works without the need for credentials and agents.
Key benefits of Faddom
Faddom’s application dependency mapping tool automatically discovers and maps business application dependencies in only 30 minutes. It is a 100% non-intrusive solution that is agentless and credential-less with no need to reconfigure firewalls.
We work passively using existing network traffic protocols (IP address based) and map automatically 24/7 and in real-time so our maps are always up-to-date.
We map all on-prem technologies, network devices (physical & virtual infrastructure), and multi-cloud topologies while providing you a holistic view of your entire environment.

It is nice, very quick deployment and provide us with service visualisation
Pros
VNT was very easy to deploy. We connected it to existing Netflow collector so no additional configuration were required. Very soon we had a graphic display of our network traffic.
Excellent customer support , there are ome features were missing and the company developed those for us in no time
Cons
The UI could be more modern. Some features are hidden and you will need a company support to find it

It is the only product where I actually can request new features or get immediate support feedback to implement my query. Faddom has brought me extremely much insight in the "hidden" domains of engineers and products (where people who have set them up in the past are no longer there). By far the best software product and company I have worked with in the last 25 years.
Pros
- Fantastic tool for phase out of legacy servers, domain controllers
- fantastic documentation tool
- Provides insight whether network staff have implemented firewall changes
- Visual tool for change management
- Ideal tool for datacenter or cloud migrations
Cons
The licensing part sometimes need a manual renewal, this is however a minor issue.

Superb Mapping Tool for Networks and Applications

We are migrating from an on-premise environment to Azure. During this period there are parallel projects which are transitioning services to SaaS, but do not take all historic data, leaving legacy read only systems of some vintage. Faddom is not only helping us plan the migration waves in to Azure, but enables us to map historic and legacy applications which can then be rebuilt and moved to Azure in a compact and condensed fashion. One we have all our servers running Azure, we will use the base line functionality to maintain topology compliance and ensure there are no un recorded changes to topology
Pros
Faddom very quickly showed us how the legacy applications we were transitioning to Azure, were interconnected. It highlighted the undocumented communications with other servers and lead to the discovery of unknown file storage use.The eay to use graphical interface and intuative functions mean that it is a short learning curve to derive real value from the investment in the software.Use of migration wave information, enables us to quickly identify when a server is moved to Azure, the dependencies to other servers and applications, which means we can ensure that all services are moved simultaneously and not then prone to latency issues between on premise and Azure.
Cons
We have yet to discover anything we do not like about the product. Its simple to use and delivers on its promise
