DxO PhotoLab

About DxO PhotoLab
DxO PhotoLab software is an image editing application that processes photos to reduce the noise in RAW files via Artificial Intelligence and DeepPRIME technology, even with poorly lit photos.
Poor visibility, fast shutter speeds, or large f-stops can often result in visible noise on images. There are several image editing programs designed to remove such flaws in RAW files. However, noise removal can lead to other artifacts. DeepPRIME technology is based on artificial intelligence and is designed to be a one-stop solution for removing noise and demosaicing. The program can increase a camera's ISO sensitivity, compensate for the disadvantages of small sensors in compact cameras, and support the post-processing of photos from older cameras.
DxO Smart Workspace allows users to personalize their own workspace. It features several filters for displaying certain tool palettes and different types of editing tools. Users can employ batch processing to rename images for cataloging, add numbers, and search for specific file names. The program also offers an advanced history with processing logs, timelines, and instant watermarking.

DeepPRIME technology is really a revolution to smooth images and remove noise.
DeepPRIME technology is really a revolution to smooth images and remove noise.
Pros
PhotoLab is absolutely amazing considering RAW edition. The technology DeepPRIME is a noise killer at the demosaicing level and it smooths bokek and boots colors. It is also a wonderful solution to correct distorsion, chromatic aberrations and vignetting. The creative side is also powerful with the U point technology. It is a must have for every serious photographer.
Cons
It can be a little bit tricjy to start but the DxO learning hub is a good entry to start with tutorials.

Dxo announces itself and presents itself as an interesting alternative to the main player in the Adobe photoshop lightroom market. However the software falls very far from its target. Not offering a file catalog, and setting up an interface close to the Windows file browser, the software therefore loses a lot of its interest compared to the competition.Although it has the advanced technologies of the Dxo brand in terms of optical management and noise reduction, the software is not very pleasant to use with its fixed interface and very late compared to the competition.the software could claim a very good second place on the podium, but finds itself in a poor position of third, or even fourth, relying too much on its technicality and taking absolutely no account of user comfort. As a result, the software is very difficult to integrate into a professional workflow.
Pros
The strength of photolab is to benefit from the various technologies of the Dxo brand, such as noise reduction, optical correction, optical management.
Cons
The ergonomics of the software is disastrous. The team in charge of the UX-UI has certainly never used their software to work a shooting session of more than 10 shots. Some menus appear directly on the image you are working on which is purely aberrant. The software does not allow any interface customization and is therefore not able to conform to the workflow of photographers using multi-screen configurations.

The best. This is an indispensable part of my workflow.
Pros
It is relatively inexpensive, outputs stupendous results, the best noise reduction in the digital image industry, color, brightness, etc. It corrects for barrel distortion and pincushion distortion, sharpening, vignetting and noise reduction. Plus, no catalogs, no sessions, no importing. You use the directory structure you are familiar with, be it Windows or Mac. I've been using it for almost ten years and would not process a RAW image without it. Indispensable.
Cons
Actually, there isn't anything major. It doesn't have layers like Photoshop, but its use as a RAW converter is just the best. It is a bit sensitive to storage issues such as a full program disk, or hard drive configuration problems. But I love it.
