About Easy Digital Downloads
Easy Digital Downloads is a cloud-based eCommerce software designed to help businesses create online stores and sell digital products on a centralized platform. Supervisors can add custom buttons in guest checkout pages and require agreements of terms before the purchasing process.
Easy Digital Downloads allows organizations to store customers’ details in a centralized database and maintain a record of their transaction history for future reference. Managers can add flat-rate or percentage-based discounts for specific products and define the start/end dates of the availability period. It also lets users process payments, generate analytical reports, and gain an overview of their total revenue based on date range or categories.
Easy Digital Downloads provides an API, which enables businesses to integrate the platform with various third-party applications including Gravity Forms. The software also helps users maintain a log of customers’ file downloads, configure access permissions and export data in CSV format.

On the occasions when I've needed help, I've consistently found the email support to be prompt and effective. I'm very happy with the product and with CSR and his team!
Pros
I've used EDD for 5 or 6 years across multiple personal projects and have used it when building e-commerce websites for clients, too. I like the ease of setup and that there are numerous integrations available for payment gateways, affiliate programs, email marketing services, and more.
Cons
I don't really have any complaints. Getting started costs can be expensive but in the context of annual cost required to facilitate sales in my business, the cost is quickly recouped.

Solid & Fairly Easy To Use

Pros
It is fairly easy to set up and with all the plugins there is not a lot you cant do with it.
It integrated easily with most email solutions and payment providers and you can use off site storage for product delivery with no real effort.
Cons
Customising the look and functionality needs some skills. You will need to have the top package with all the plugins to use it properly if you can't commit to the whole bundle don't bother.
This is probably the only drawback - it might be better to only offer the full package as some users will be frustrated by the need to buy more bits when they get going.

Incredibly frustrating. I watched dozens of hours of outdated videos and spent money for pro versions of a theme and a page builder which only added to my confusion. While I am not a web designer, I do have many years experience in managing and adding features to two websites, one of which is a forum with over 50,000 members and the largest of its kind. In hindsight, I am not surprised that EDD's showcase of existing sites apparently doesn't show any sites that are individually owned and operated stock sites selling digital art as I am seeking to do.
Pros
Its promise of being capable of doing everything I want to do with a website. I sell digital art with a current portfolio of more than 5000 images. I also want to add a number of computer graphic services.
Cons
The fact that it's not a complete package. I still need a "theme" and a "page builder" which are new terms for me that I don't understand in trying to use them as well as what each does when and why some things do not work as expected.

Of the few times I have contacted support, our rep has gone above and beyond normal help. I had a conflict with one site, and he wrote a plugin to fix the incompatibility. Our rep rocks!
