ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager
About ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager
ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is a network configuration and change management (NCCM) solution that supports multiple vendors and is compatible with various network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. It offers a range of key features to enhance network management:
- Backup: This feature allows users to perform bulk backups, schedule backups, and automate the backup process. It ensures that configurations are securely stored, enabling efficient disaster recovery, troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate records.
- Change management: Network Configuration Manager provides real-time change notifications, role-based access control, configuration comparison (using color-coded visualizations), and the ability to label configurations. These features facilitate effective management and tracking of configuration changes.
- Compliance management: The solution includes industry-standard policies such as PCI, SOX, HIPAA, and Cisco IOS by default. Additionally, users have the flexibility to create custom policies tailored to their specific requirements. Network Configuration Manager enables compliance reporting and alerts administrators in case of policy violations.
- Automation: Network Configuration Manager offers Configlets, which are automation script templates. These Configlets automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks, such as changing passwords across multiple devices or enabling/disabling SNMP v3 on a large number of devices. Configlets can be scheduled, saving time and effort for network administrators.
- Firmware vulnerability management: Network Configuration Manager simplifies the management of network device firmware. It provides a comprehensive list of vulnerable devices, along with details such as CVE ID, severity score, and links to patch fixes. The solution automatically updates this information on a daily basis from trusted sources like NIST.
ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is a powerful NCCM solution that supports multiple vendors and offers features such as backup, change management, compliance management, automation, and firmware vulnerability management. These features streamline network management tasks, enhance security, and ensure efficient operation of network devices.

Great platform for smaller buisness

Pros
Quite extensive with features. the configlets are easy to use and quite practical. The list of recommended version for each device is one of the main reason we got this product.
Cons
There are small things here and there that could be annoying when you are migrating; menus refreshing after almost each operations, when doing some actions you are sent to an other place in the page and can't go back without navigating the menu again. nothing critical but can take some time when doing big jobs.
