Microsoft Viva

About Microsoft Viva
Microsoft Viva is a learning experience management software that helps businesses create and deliver personalized content to accelerate learning and balance productivity. The platform enables managers to create a centralized destination and utilize the unified communications channel to share relevant information.
Administrators can target communications to specific employees according to the predefined preferences on a unified interface. Microsoft Viva allows teams to access, share and communicate about content across Microsoft 365 Training and Microsoft Learn libraries and LinkedIn Learning courses. Supervisors can also provide course recommendations to employees and track learning progress on a centralized dashboard.
Microsoft Viva lets stakeholders use the search functionality to find connectors, pages, topic cards, centers, and more. Operators can also integrate the solution with partner content providers and learning management systems.

The first engagement with Microsoft viva came with the feeling of using a new software but the user interface makes adoption seamless, I would recommend a feedback mechanism to improve the UI as was done with office365
Pros
It improved my social wellbeing as a staff, especially the viva insight, viva learning and viva goals without erupting my focus during work hours
Cons
The inability to share insight learning and goals to external sources is the least likable, I will recommend an admin controlled avenue to share outside the organisation

Setting Outcomes and Seeing the Objectives - Viva

It's a very positive overall experience, no question. When you seek to do two things: empower departments to have more clarity into their quarterly Objectives, and Key Results; and then illustrate the hierarchy of work between departments and overall corporate Outcomes, Viva delivers spectacularly. My only other note would be that the learning curve for administrators is a little longer than say, a single 30 minute class. But after a times logging in to use it, updates go by much faster.
Pros
We started using Microsoft Viva as a way to capture out Objectives and Key Results on a team by team, then larger Area by Area basis. But from there, it expanded to allowing us to capture Outcomes across the entire company. Easily, that's what best works for myself / the company. We have such a clear way to demonstrate how the work done by teams is impacting Outcomes intended by the organization.
Cons
To date, having a clean connection / integration between Viva and Azure DevOps (ADO) has not gone as smoothly as originally intended. We do not yet link Epics and Features, despite that being a key factor in our original rollout 16 months ago. While we still have learning to do, I would say that not being able to do that is a letdown from our initial vision.

Good features to boots Microsoft Teams features!
Reviewed on 2023/11/11
Pros
Microsoft Viva is great because it allows users to exploit the full potential of Microsoft Teams, thanks to Viva Connections and Viva Learning. Viva Connections allows you to create various cards pointing to SharePoint Portals, News, Learning platforms and many more. Viva Learning allows you to regroup a great amount of learning platform in a single place and it has a huge amount of trainings on the various tools offered by Microsoft 365.
Cons
Viva Engage is not really useful if people don’t maintain their Outlook Calendar up to date. Also Viva Learning doesn’t support all learning platforms and for some you have to pay expensive extras to connect the learning platforms to Viva Learning. Let’s just say that, even if you don’t have the Viva options setup you’ll be able to live and be productive without them.

MS Viva for Development
Reviewed on 2023/05/18
Pros
Thanks to its easy and simple integration, you can quickly switch to use. Thanks to the simplified and advanced interface it provides, a quick and easy reporting is ready in a few steps. Perhaps one of the best tools to learn and evaluate yourself while working.
Cons
It may be considered unnecessary for someone who knows very little. It just provides a glimpse for a user who doesn't know how to use it yet. After reading a few documents, you can adapt quickly and maybe discover doors that can open to a different world.

Great to enhance my work productivity
Reviewed on 2023/02/23
Pros
Love the focus time function that automatically book my time one week ahead! I also love the stay connected function reminders to make sure that i didn't miss any follow-ups or emails.
Cons
Sometimes the viva insights can be overwhelming with the follow-ups and it shows me tasks that i've already accomplished or no follow up is necessary.
