You definitely have to be willing to fight through it for it to make sense and to find a way to get it to do what you want it to do. If you're a single operator, it might be worth investing time and resources to an implementation manager or paying Oases to do the work for you in terms of setup. There's lots of help documentation (almost too much). It's not as intuitive - out of the gate as you might expect or desire. That's neither good nor bad. If you don't have the time and patience to go through the documentation, definitely revaluate your tutor management system needs. There's lots in this system (good). You have to do the work to unlock its potential (could be the not so good).
Pros
Oases is full of features and functionality. I love the fact that I can manage multiple client types. Looking forward to getting this integrated with Autorize.net and to see what the mailchimp integration allows.
Cons
Mobile experience could be better. Personally, I like "help tips" when I encounter a problem. That is, when something doesn't appear, the help text on the screen would prompt and tell me what's missing or what hasn't been done. Otherwise, you have to comb through the documentation.

If you have a background in accounting and other advanced online software's, this may be a doable system. The system is too technical for the average user because it requires layers of applications to get to the end point. Customer service was contacted too often and training was not empathetic, kind, or respectful of learning differences and needs. If you have lot of time to play with it or you have the time to hire a system engineer to install and train, this is your system. If you are the owner of the company and need to use it daily, it isn't fictional because it takes too much time from other aspects of the your job running a company.

The system is very challenging to learn and requires a lot of customer service assistance and or researching their knowledge base applications.

Overall, Oases has helped our business to realize its goals in ways we couldn't have foreseen. Oases is able to meet whatever changes we make to our business model. Its high degree of customization means that it is suited to any number of tutoring or education management companies, whether they be traditional in-home tutoring or something else. Oases has become central to our day-to-day operations, and we are excited to continue to use it as we grow.
Pros
Oases makes it simple to manage students, staff, and customers with their extraordinarily deep and well-thought-out software. Two years into using this product and we are still discovering helpful functions and tricks that have made managing our business more streamlined. It seems that for every enhancement question we have, the Oases team has already addressed it. Features that stand out are the Sessions and Schedules functions, that make managing student/tutor relationships a breeze. For those focused on data to help improve their business, Oases provides comprehensive data reports on a myriad of topics, even giving users the ability to generate custom reports specific to their needs. The invoicing feature makes billing simple, and provides our team with yet another level of customization so that we can cater to the needs of our clientele. Our team is also very excited by the recent addition of TutorPlace, which will streamline the experience of our tutoring staff as we continue to grow. It is encouraging to see that the Oases team is still finding ways to improve their product. Finally, we wouldn't have been able to make such use of Oases were it not for their responsive team. Whatever our needs, they are quick to respond and provide any assistance they can.
Cons
For all its robustness and depth, Oases can be a very confusing piece of software. Because it is so complex, contains so many moving parts, and is able to be modified quite significantly to each company's preferences, one can become bogged down along the way to figuring out how exactly each piece fits together. While much helpful information is contained in the Knowledge Base, it often lacks details that would expedite understanding, being somewhat brief. This is exacerbated by the large amount of product-specific jargon needed to fully understand Oases (e.g. what is the different between a Session Type, and the different types of Session Types?). I was not present for the selection of Oases and thus cannot speak to whether a video tutorial is included as part of the initial purchasing process - however, if not, I suggest that such a tutorial be included so that users can receive a first-hand demonstration of Oases to mitigate potential confusion down the line. (Please note that Oases is willing to do video conferences if requested, which is very helpful.) Lastly, a common complaint among staff is the appearance of Oases: it feels clunky and outdated, and its design is, I believe, a key source of misunderstanding about its functions, especially for those who do not use it daily. We are encouraged by the recent addition of TutorPlace, a simple and intuitive UI that will improve end use for our tutors - and eagerly await such an improvement to the rest of Oases.

I came across Oases a few years ago as I was looking for ways to grow my business. I learned a lot from reading their 'tutor report' blog. I finally decided to subscribe to their service a year ago and I am so happy I did. Here is a breakdown of why I love Oases.
1) Stella Customer Service: I was highly impressed that Oases took the time to train me on their software. They scheduled one on one training sessions and worked with me to set up my program!
2) Intuitive Software: Oases is the iPhone of management software.
3) Personable Staff: Oases has a very responsive staff. They are always willing to walk you through any questions you may have. They are very responsive to customer request tickets. They are easy to talk to and very efficient and effective!
4) Value: Oases is priced well and worth every penny!
5) They have an app! My tutors can sign in with the app to checkin about their session, they can also access student information and contacts through the app. I can also approve tutoring sessions, look up tutoring contacts on the app making this a good 'on the go' tool.
I have not even scratched the surface of all I can do with Oases. They have taught of everything! They continue to add more beneficial features that are always on point. I will highly recommend Oases. Tutoring is a very saturated market with big players! Oases help me remain competitive in this market!
Pros
I like that the software is easy to use abs that it covers everything from testing students, creating learning plans, scheduling students, scheduling tutors, billing clients, automated emails, paying tutors, and everything in between. This software does everything and more! It helps me organize my data so that I can focus on providing the best tutoring experience than my competitors. They have an app!
