BetterUnite is a fundraising and event management platform designed for non-profit organizations and businesses of all sizes. The cloud-based solution enables users to run crowdfunding campaigns, organize virtual events and auctions, and manage grants, donors, volunteers, and memberships.
Organizations can utilize the event management tool to create branded event pages, organize live auctions, sell tickets, define discount codes, manage guest lists and registrations, assign tables, track attendee status, and send bulk emails via a single customizable dashboard. It includes a donor management module that lets users streamline email marketing, donor activity tracking, legacy contact importing, custom tagging, and performance monitoring to facilitate customer relationship management. Businesses can also utilize the membership management module to obtain new subscriptions, track recurring payments, view past and upcoming invoices, forecast plan performances, manage member communications, and create membership plans with custom sign-up pages.
BetterUnite integrates with third-party applications like Salesforce, MailChimp, Stripe, Twilio, Google Pay, Emma, Blackbaud, WePay, and more. The platform uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol for secure communications and is compliant with Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulation to ensure secure payment.

Pros
As a marketing consultant for nonprofits, I have spent many hours searching for a platform that will provide a robust donor CRM and also connect with fundraising and events. BetterUnite does all of that and more - at no cost to the organization!
Cons
Everything that I've thought that could be made better, I've contacted the Better Unite team and they've adjusted the platform or walked me through some alternate options - no complaints here!

We’re really impressed with BetterUnite and love using it as first-time users. This platform is a game-changer for any nonprofit wanting to elevate their fundraising experience. It gave us the confidence to raise more funds for the causes we care about. A special thanks to the BetterUnite team, and particularly our Senior Account Manager, for their invaluable guidance and support. Their timely help was crucial in making sure our event was a success and that we left a positive impression on our guests, whether they attended in person or virtually.
Pros
I love that BetterUnite is a comprehensive fundraising platform with tools for everything; from managing silent auctions, tracking bids, and recognizing donors to event registration, check-ins, guest participation (both in-person and virtual), and more. It’s impressive how many advanced features are available for free to nonprofits. The onboarding process was excellent, and the support was top-notch, ensuring the success of our first hybrid fundraising event. Even for a small nonprofit like ours, with limited fundraising experience, we found it easy to manage tasks like automated communications with guests and generating tax-deductible receipts for auction winners.
Cons
The platform is very well-designed and can handle both simple and complex fundraising setups. However, initially, it took us a little time to fully understand how the payout process worked for the funds raised, but the support team quickly guided us through it and explained the process clearly.

This system has been so easy to use and the customer services is unmatched! My account manager [sensitive content hidden] has been very responsive and always finds time to chat with me regarding any questions I have! Using this system is a game changer for event sales and planning.
Pros
BetterUnite makes it so easy to collect ticket and sponsorship sales, as well as track guest lists for our events. The table feature made it so simple to seat over 600 guests for my recent event. We also love the thermometer feature, that we had pulled up live at our event and could see live donations come through.
Cons
I honestly do not have much about the system I do not like. My overall experience has been great!

It was great for our first donor management system. Since it was free, it allowed us the time to learn the system while not also racking up a monthly bill. We could learn at our own pace and not be pressing to get a ROI by using it too quickly without enough expertise

It was free and easy to use. Customer support very responsive and detailed once you got them on email. They have a library of commonly asked questions and answers
Cons
No live customer support. Submitting a ticket takes time to hear back for anything time sensitive.

The simplicity of the platform made sense. The ticket purchase and table seating process was awesome. The check -in process was smooth.
