Bookly, built for Wordpress, is an appointment booking software that is designed for businesses across several industry segments, including law consultancies, restaurants, medical clinics, spas, fitness institutes, and repair services. It enables organizations to create custom booking forms with brand colors, available dates, service categories, employee preferences, payment options, and request descriptions.
Bookly lets team members use the color-coded calendar to monitor daily, weekly and monthly appointments and overall workload. The booking list functionality allows managers to maintain a record of customer requests with information, such as appointment date, assigned employee, customer name, payment details, and service order status. Staff members can create personalized profiles with name, image, email address, phone number, specialization, and other notes.
Administrators can use Bookly to create custom email or SMS notification templates and automatically send reminders, appointment approvals, birthday greetings, and follow-up alerts to customers. It lets users generate invoices based on requested services and corresponding tax calculations. Managers can use the activity dashboard to gain insights into overall bookings, payments, and customer engagement rates.
Bookly comes with an API, which lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party solutions including Google Calendar, Woo Commerce, and WPML. It also allows leaders to configure staff working hours and set up service availability schedules accordingly.

Pros
Wide range of add-ons to achieve the functionality required for almost any use case.
Cons
Add-ons are all separate purchases, which can add up to quite a bit for small and medium businesses.

Great product when it works but as mentioned above, plugin updates which break existing functionality should not be the customers cost to fix. I would rather an annual charge for using the plugin which includes support rather than this after purchase support at twice the price annually.
Pros
Ease of use, ease of setting up. Nice interface. Good workflow. Fit for purpose.
Cons
The worst part of this business model is having to pay for support to fix bugs in the software. Updates are regularly released which break the product but Envato expects you to pay over $100 AUD for them to fix their bugs. I don't mind paying for support regarding customisations or lack of user knowledge but to charge a support fee to fix the bugs they introduce in plugin updates just stinks. We wont be buying this product again or recommending it to our clients.
Reasons for Switching to Bookly
We chose Bookly due to its functionality at the time and seemed the best fit for our client's needs. We didn't realise paid support would be required to fix developer introduced bugs. This is the deal breaker for us. We've since used Amelia and find the support for this one excellent. The other benefit of Amelia for developers is the ability to purchase a multiple site license vs a one full priced licence for each site.- Industry: Professional Training & Coaching

Pros
There is hardly anything I like with Bookly.
Cons
Constantly down for "scheduled maintenance". Regularly deletes the things I post which includes entire customer profiles and bookings. Features don't work properly and when you email to get it fixed they say "it looks fine on our end". Very frustrating to use. If it was up to me the company I am with would have switched forever ago.

We've installed it on a subdomain. Required to install WP first. Ease to set up for a WP user. May be complicated for those unfamiliar with Wordpress.
Pros
If you run Wordpress website - this plugin is the best option. Bookly offers one time purchace for the pro version which is rare these days (everyone uses subscription plans).
Cons
There is no option to book several time slots a a time. You have to push book more button each time, which is not that user friendly.
