About Cisco Meraki
Cisco Meraki Systems Manager provides over-the-air centralized management, diagnostics, and monitoring for the mobile devices managed by your organization — from iPads and Androids to Macs and PCs. Systems Manager monitors each of your organization’s devices, showing useful metrics such as client hardware/software information and recent location, and even lets administrators remotely lock and erase devices.
Cisco Meraki operates the industry's largest-scale Cloud Networking service. The Cisco Meraki cloud service powers over tens of thousands of networks worldwide and connects millions of devices. Cisco Meraki also has the most experience in the cloud, having run its production service continuously for seven years. The Cisco Meraki Cloud Networking platform is trusted by thousands of IT professionals, from enterprises to hospitals, banks, and retailers.
Key benefits of Cisco Meraki
Enforce policies across mobile devices administered by your organization. Protect devices and their data, control their usage with fine-grained passcode policies, and restrict access to the app store, gaming, and content.
Systems Manager also makes it easy to define and deploy network settings like wireless connectivity, security settings, and remote VPN access to all devices on your network at once.
Backpack lets you deliver and manage documents, images, apps, and other files on Android devices. Bundle documents and files into a backpack and deliver it over-the-air to one device or thousands of devices, right from the dashboard.
Improve the security of BYOD initiatives by enforcing data encryption, remotely wiping lost devices, and even restricting network access to managed devices.
Device-specific policies can be automatically applied by Cisco Meraki wireless APs to restrict, quarantine, or throttle user-owned devices.
See how many BYOD clients have connected, measure the bandwidth they’ve used, and even see their percentage of total traffic.
Network summary reports are delivered to your inbox at any time or on an automatic, monthly schedule.

Great solution for our business
Reviewed on 2024/01/24
Pros
Cloud config is obviously huge. Being able to have a site set up and ready to go in the cloud before anything is plugged in make acquisitions and new stores so easy to stand up. Most new features are software based so it's only getting better.
Cons
Pricing could be easier to understand. There are some features that a more advanced network might need but it works great for us. It definitely should have better monitoring built in.

It's a powerful and flexible networking solution for businesses of all sizes. Its ease of use and scalability make it an attractive option for many users
Pros
One of the main advantages of Cisco Meraki is its ease of use. The platform offers a simple and intuitive interface that makes it easy for businesses to manage their network devices, even if they don't have extensive technical expertise. This can be especially beneficial for small and medium-sized businesses that may not have dedicated IT staff.
Cons
the cost of the devices and subscriptions, which can be relatively high compared to other networking solutions. This may make it less suitable for small businesses or those with limited budgets.Another potential issue is the reliance on cloud-based management. While the cloud-based management can be convenient, it also means that businesses need a reliable internet connection to manage their devices. This can be a challenge in areas with poor connectivity or when there are network disruptions.

In the Meraki Ecosystem, I have extensive experience working with MX Firewalls, MS Switches, and MR Access Points. These products boast ease of deployment and management, featuring user-friendly interfaces. However, it's worth noting that in the MX Firewalls, certain features such as NAT(Static and Dynamic) and Link Aggregation are lacking. This limitation has posed challenges for me in network design and deployment scenarios.
Pros
I appreciated the ease of deployment and management of Meraki Products, user monitoring, and user-friendly interfaces.
